Stamp was more like a Stump today. G,boro were never a threat today, the only threat came from the shrimp in black who missed a howler on Miller and didn't have the balls to send Stumpy off at the end, where do these donkeys get their licence from to wear the whistle.
Fantastic all round performance by the whole team, Tuesday there were lots of errors because of the wet slippery surface but today they overcame a sticky pitch and really stuffed them. Thanks to all of them for making it a great day.
Almost forgot, Pidge was brilliant.

I also thought we went easy on them second half.  It wasn't that they changed to get into it, it was more we knew the job was done and concentrated on keeping them out.

I'd have liked to seen us really go at them and take them to the cleaners.

Realistically we didn't do that much second half and cruised to 6-0.

For all the nonsense Housham has spouted and the mercenaries that have left to go there in previous months I'd have liked to have seen us really rub it in.

But to be fair to him, DG wouldn't be aware of all that.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

I don't wish to be a spectre at the feast, but I don't subscribe to silly hatred of teams just because they are local. Imagine for a moment that all the teams that you profess to hate disappeared. Would the game be better if there were no other teams in the county? At the moment we have a significant edge over Gainsborough, mainly due to the fact that our club is in a prolonged period of stability and they have had recent upheaval, but remember to be generous to those that you pass on the way up. That way they may also treat you well on the way down. After a day like today we are entitled to some amusing banter, but in the greater scheme of things we are all supporters of the beautiful game. I would love to see the day when Trinity bring two hundred supporters to York Street and boost the gate. I can dream, can't I? I wish Gainsborough Trinity all the very best for the future, except of course when they play us, and the same goes for Lincoln City, Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United and all the (slightly) lesser teams in the county. After all, it is only a game.

Quite correct.

I can remember cringing at the antics and words of E*ans and co when they were here, burning bridges with local clubs and being disrespectful of all and sundry on the way up.And when you do inevitably take a fall there's not a lot of sympathy out there.

Housham was in the same category, and thats why there's an awful lot of people quietly satisfied that him and his club have been firmly put in their place after all the nonsense he came out with last year.

Its just as well we'd got it won in the 1st half, we've a big game on Tuesday and we shouldn't under estimate Histon, they gave us a good game at Xmas and Tuesday probably won't be any different. The lads need to relax today and get those legs prepared for another difficult pitch.

But at the moment I'm struggling to remember us ever being in such a rich seam of goalscoring form, I started coming in 76/77 and a Golden era was just starting to come to a close then........I've not seen anything like the last few home games for a very long time though, probably not since 82/3 when we lost 1 home game all season and came 4th in a very competitive Conference.

The result was awesome, as was the performance, and dont want to rub it in, but Gainsborough was the worse team I have seen in years, paceless and heartless, says it all. Congrats to Newsh for his real strikers hat trick that will do him a world of good. Pidge was outstanding and I also thought Marshall had a cracking game, in replacing Marrs. Interesting that DG opted for Mcgee, a winger in front of the skipper. But the energy the midfield three generated was superb, and at last we have a real engine in the heart of the pitch, Brilliant, so happy cooking brekkie now! ;D

I'm with you on this one Fairfax, banter is great but hatred is a step to far. How many of our fans that moan about the numbers Gainsborough brought travel to away games? It would be nice to see the away end full for most games but it ain't going to happen and that is mainly due to the league we are in.

Gainsborough are never going to go very far.  Their support has never been great and even in the days when Boston Utd used to regularly get over 2000 in the Alliance Premier League, Gainsborough struggled to approach 1000.

Over the last 2 seasons when they were doing well, their attendances struggled to top 500.

Even this season their average attendances struggle to get near 400, so bringing 20% of their home attendance yesterday isn't so bad - but it still is poor for a derby match no matter how it is dressed up.

Interesting how the Trinity supporters' flags and banners disappeared very early.  At least one at half time!  Probably left to go in the Pilgrim Lounge!

Well the replays show that the fourth was certainly Millers goal and what a ball it was from Ross for the final goal. I still believe there is a place for Ross in any team at this level as his quality on the ball is second to none. Keeping the lads on loan till the end of the season could be all the difference for our promotion hopes though. In my opinion the reason why we are now keeping clean sheets is because of the protection the two lads in midfield on loan give the back four. As well as Sam Vince has done in goal he has barely had a safe to make in the last two games.

Rich praise indeed, I bow to your greater knowledge as I've only been a regular since Evans first full season.
It's hard to think we had a 0-0 the other night!

After that performance it would not be surprised to see Gainsborough in a relegation fight at the end of the season.

Think some of the post about Gainsborough been poor are taking the shine of what we did a bit here.
TBF  my personal opinion of the game is Gainsborough was made to look poor by us and a feel if we played like that every game we would make a lot of teams look the same.
We controlled the game from start to finish our passing was superb giving the pitch state, when they did have the ball we was straight   in to them not giving them a moment, we held the ball away from them when needed, we slowed the game down then speeded it up at will. In truth we made Gainsborough play the way we wanted them to. And did not Give Gainsborough a chance to play any different.

Big well done to all. And also a mention must be given to the Newton,Ground Staff and Greene for showing what a club we are by all pulling there socks up in getting the game on.

Its good to be a Boston supporter at the moment.

2 Week season extension anyone??
