I'm afraid he gives the impression of being a hot head too often.

Far be it for me to disagree with Mel, but I have yet to be convinced by Jackson either. He's made too many careless challenges and given away free kicks in dangerous situations, but the jury remains out. It was a daft second yellow for Gough.

I was rather depressed by today's performance. The team didn't seem to know their responsibilities, with players bunched together too often. Kiddy's midfield and forwards continually either found or made space, and used the width of the pitch. We kept it narrow, trying to go through the congested middle, and usually playing the ball to someone who was marked more closely than than the passer. Why can't we go wide? We rarely win any balls in the air in midfield and further forward. Kiddy's control was better than ours, and when they went forward, they went forward with pace and purpose. Too often we turn back and lose all momentum, and the forwards don't go looking for the ball from the midfield - they stand in a line and expect it to appear magically at their feet. Kiddy went looking for it.

Mild rant over. UTP

From the off yesterday I was more than bemused that Walker was playing centrally and Wafula out wide, given that the latter seems the only player in our front line who can win headers. There seemed to be a plan to send it up to him in the air, but when he won it it either went out of play or into a fairly harmless place - because he was wide. Why isn't he played more centrally and Walker, who I thought is a winger, played wide? I thought that might be changed at half time, but it wasn't.

Answers on a postcard, please.......

I still can't agree about Ashley's sending off. It was right in front of us and was reckless (those around me immediately said that he'd be lucky to stay on) - although I agree with Pete that in the context of the game, and the ref's failure to send off the Willis-pushing Nuneaton player, it didn't fit in. And you're right - she did take a yellow out first. The point is that he gave her a decision to make.
