Totally agree with POL, which is better to brag about? Promotion to BSN/S or winning the Unibond Challenge Cup.

Also it being the "Challenge" cup, where was the challenge in that? ;D

It's weird how the term "Challenge Cup" permeates sport, because none of the ones using that name are true challenge cups.

The only genuine ones that I can think of are The America's Cup and The Boat Race.

The rules for a challenge cup are that the holder must defend it against the challenge, and that all other competitors may use whatever method they decide upon to produce the challenger. In other words the holder gets an automatic bye to the final.

I believe that the earliest F A Cup followed the rule, with The Wanderers in 1873 defending their 1872 victory.

There is talk of the final taking place at either Lincoln United's ground or Grantham Town.

I have never visited Lincoln United's ground - but I don't wish to watch another final at the Mere's Stadium, and certainly not floodlit - not only was a blinded by the floodlights, shadows in the middle of the pitch, you needed a pair of binoculars to see what was happening the other side of the pitch.

Grantham or Lincoln United?  How Tinpot is that.

What's wrong with York Street?  ;)
