While I can see that Mrs Terry has a grievance, it is not clear to me what is upsetting Bridge so much. By his own admission, the affair was with his ex and so he has no further calim on her. It's not worth throwing his international career away. Noses and spiting faces comes to mind.

It happened whilst they were together (Bridge and his ex), but they aren't together anymore. That's my understanding, anyway...

All seems a bit daft to me, it is the first time Bridges side of the story has come out though.  Is having the hump with an ex team mate enough to make you take away your chances of playing in the world cup?

Modern day footballers hey, I'd give my other half away to play left back in the world cup.  Come to think of it, they way left backs are tumbling, my sweet left foot might get the call up despite age being against me  ;D

Personally I think it is Terryble that Bridge isn't prepared to build bridges.

With the Cole and Bridge situation as it is, people keep mentioning untried and untested (at international level) left-backs to come in and fill that void. I'm not sure if that's the answer.

I can remember a previous World Cup (post Alan Shearer's international retirement) when there was  a media campaign to reverse his decision and play for his country again. Jamie Carragher retired from international football a few years ago, but surely he would be the best English candidate to fill that position - if he could be persuaded to do so?

Carragher hasn't had a great season. I think it'll be worth playing Gareth Barry there next week.

I rate warnock enough to play anyone buts the spains and brazils, and konchesky(however you spell him) isnt half bad nowadays either if youve watched him

There is no way bridge would want to be in the same room as the bloke let alone spend three weeks or whatever it is out is South Africa with him especially as he won't be playing because cole will be fit by then
It wouldn't surprise me if bridge stuck one on terry and I wouldn't blame him if he did!

They'd been separated for three months when it happened.  She is the mother of his 4 year old Son though.

Since shaking hands before a game is a Premier League "Fair Play" regulation, may we nowanticipate a charge of bringing the game into disrepute against Bridge? This would substantiate the FAs reputation for dealing with the minutiae of rules in a constantly erratic way.
