Halifax

If you were a neutral yesterday and didn't know who was playing.  You would have thought the team in Yellow and Black were the home team sat in a lofty position. We were that much better than Halifax, especially in the first half. I would love to know the possession stats. I thought Woods was massive in midfield, and it seemed no coincidence that their goal came within a few minutes of him leaving the field. At a guess I think 48 points is the target, and thought yesterday was a game GC would not have expected anything from. We need at least a point on Tuesday to potentially achieve that total in my opinion. Well done lads, I enjoyed the game but obviously not the result. And well done to all the traveling fans, they out sang the home supporters.
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

I've put my snaps from the game on my Facebook page

and on Google Photos (https://photos.app.goo.gl/wiejS9Mo7irTQiRz7)

Also found this YouTube clip of Halifax Town's famous FA Cup win against Manchester City at The Shay in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup in January 1980. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac5qMQXHre0). They played in a bit more mud back then. Both sides are in their brown strip :)

From the days when the Halifax Dukes speedway track surrounded the pitch!! I've seen lots of speedway matches at The Shay, but Saturday was only the second football match I've seen there. The other was a Halifax Town (the original) v Boston United pre-season friendly. Goodness knows how many years ago that was, but it was before the removal of the speedway track and the stadium redevelopments began.

By the time I got to the front of the queue, the peas and gravy had gone.  I had a meat and potato pie. Sorry I couldn't find the meat. They still charged me full price.
