Ebbsfleet (H)
« on: January 10, 2025, 11:28:24 AM »
AFC Fylde have already called off their game with Sutton tomorrow which means a win vs Ebbsfleet means we're "only" four points behind them with the same number of games played.

Yes, I know - still a mountain to climb, but baby steps and all that... plus the confidence of seeing them within touching distance. Fylde are a team we're going to HAVE to out-perform over the next few weeks if we're going to stay up.

A must win if it's on tomorrow, got to beat the teams around us if we are going to stay up. Would be great to get 3 points and close the gap. Feels less than 50% chance it will be on with the weather forecast.

Yes, just seen the forecast. -4 tonight. I know we have a new pitch, a great groundsman, and pitch covers.... but it still might not be enough.

Match on
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

Great work on getting the match on given the weather

Well done to the ground staff for getting the game on, pitch was immaculate. Sadly with that result I think it's pretty much confirmed it will see NLN football again next season. A real travesty we are going down with a whimper.

So disappointed with the overall performance today. I believe Ebbsfleet actually gave more..

On top of that, I’m confused as to our style of play. Maybe as confused as the players..

To probably go back down with a team worse than last year adds to the disappointment..

Not sure about that. I thought we were up for it and worked hard and for the most part were the only team going for the win!

Yes we worked hard but I felt Ebbsfleet recognised the importance of the game more than us, particularly at 2-1. It’s how I saw it..

  • Norwich United - best ground in Step 7 football!

Think that secures relegation for both sides - unless something completely unexpected happens. Big shame considering the amount of time it has taken The Pilgrims to work their way back up to Step 1 football. Still, it does give a greater emphasis on the current run in the FA Trophy, and another Wembley visit would be some sort of happy ending to 2024-25.

FAO @ Ken Fox - you've put this down on the website as 1-1!

Indeed, well spotted. Fixed it now. I didn't get round to updating the half-time score before I uploaded it.

More what? Physicality, yes... football, no.

We dominated for large periods, and as always, came up short as we struggled to put away the chances.
