Ebbsfleet away...
« on: November 30, 2024, 08:46:35 PM »
Self-discipline prevents me from voicing my true feelings on today's result/performance. Graham Coughlan has a monumental job on his hands to save us from the drop. I don't think he has a hope in Hell, unless the squad is dismantled and rebuilt. Can that be done?

Have deleted my thread and will post my post on here...

A tough watch. Quite easy to see why these two teams are bottom and second bottom in the table. Very little quality on show. We possibly edged the second half and looked the most likely to score but we never really created or did enough to score.

New CB did fairly well but he'll have tougher tests to come. Wouldn't say anybody stood out in what was a drab game. You feel with this tougher run of fixtures coming and Coughlan himself saying we're targeting this mini league of the bottom eight they could also be tough watches.

that was an awful game frankly.

I dont know why we played maguire as a winger - and i dont know why we brought Woods on at left wing.  we were so narrow.

Reed looks like he's got a bit about him - more than can be said about Wheeldon at this stage.

Pemi does put himself about a bit - but he reminds me so much of a lightweight Stuart Douglas.  Two kids up top (him and Wheeldon) ain't gonna get it done.

Our best goal threat coming from our right back says it all...

But a point closer to safety…just saying.

Genuinely one of the worst games I've ever had the misfortune to witness.

They are diabolical; we contrived to somehow get dragged down to their level.

As it stands, we're cannon fodder. Zombies awaiting inevitable relegation.

On that showing we'll do well to get 30 points all season, genuinely one of the worst games of football I've ever had the misfortune to attend.

Feel for GC, he's on a hiding to nothing, he'll get lads in but lets be honest, anyone half decent will look at the league and give us a swerve, by the time New Year comes we could be 10-12 points from safety and then its time to build for next season, assuming GC wants to stay.

The only positive for me in all this is the manager is fronting up after games and coming over to the fans, and to be fair there seems to be a togetherness.

But the summer recruitment has come back to haunt us massively, I can only see heavy defeats in the next two away games even if we get a few more bodies over the line.

They smelled good. I had plans to go to Seven Dials before seeing Steve Coogan later that night but I misjudged what time I had (and the trains) so went hungry until past 10pm!

Got to agree, best burgers I have had at a football ground. A lot better than the hot dog at Woking ;D
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.
