Eastleigh

Why can't we hold a lead?
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

I wasn't there Mick but listened to the radio commentary, I cannot in the world get my head around the substitution to bring Hazel on with ten minutes to go, if theres an injury yes, if we are losing yes, but if it is simply to keep him happy then definately no, I presume it will be said Femi was tiring and that is ridiculous as it sounded in comentary that he was again doing a great job, so surely another ten minutes would do him no harm as there is not another competetive game for another two weeks and I am sure that is ample time for him to recover. Sorry but this is a basic error and almost unforgivable. UTP

Game management them last 25 mins or so was horrendous
11 v 11 we win that, we keep playing and they don't threaten

The only way they were gonna score was long throw in or set piece and we invited them on....

A shame as we defended well and looked relatively comfortable until we stopped playing to kill the game off

Respect to the 169. On the radio could hear them loud and clear all game.

A good away point which, despite a plethora of games without a win, will keep Cully in the job for at least another fortnight.
Alan Partridge: "I bet I've got more friends than you've got cows. How many cows have you got?"
Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

We didn't look like a side on 9 points going into the match. Played very well up until their sending off at which point we decided to give up trying to get a second.

Cully claimed on the radio it was down to the players feeling "tension"; I'd argue his subs didn't exactly help.

We're such a weird team. Obviously very well coached, very well drilled, play lovely football - but at times we just look so far off it it's unbelievable. Saturday wasn't one of those games, although with that "bit more quality" we can't afford and more confident game management we'd likely have been out of sight by the time they scored their penalty.

That's good to hear, been a bit of snipe from the coaching team recently about fans support. For me, it's been unreal, players initially weren't going to come over but they did so kudos to them . They need to keep the connection going as with all these bad results it's easy to lose it and it's more important than ever.

As for the match, we played well for 70. Missed a great chance to make it 2-0 then we looked a team with no confidence etc. Went back into our shell. Sam Osbourne played brilliant as did Zak Mills and Jai Rowe. Interesting to see how much better we looked defensively with a bit of pace at CB. Can't fault the effort, need some reinforcements if we are to go down without a wimper.

Really? Where? CS and Radio Lincs have always mentioned the great support in their interviews and Cully/Bazza/Simpson have always said good things this season.

Bazza had a tiny little pop at the home fans in a recent interview saying they were quiet compared to the away followings.

Have to agree. Very quiet first half against Fylde.

its no wonder is it though, most of the standing fans I talk with feel the new facilities are a massive downgrade on what was at York St and they go into the ground in the wrong frame of mind to start with. Away from home everyone makes the best of it and gets behind the players. Until the standing fans are given facilities on a par with what they had there will always be a problem with atmosphere at home games.

You were at Eastleigh on Saturday Pete, that stand had a very temporary feel to it, why is something like that not at the far end of the JCS rather than a void that just adds to the lack of atmosphere?

Yeah, it all felt a bit... flimsy didn't it? Good question about a temporary stand. I reckon had the club known it was going to take this long to get the south stand built they may well have installed one.

I was looking out for you on Saturday but ended up sitting right at the front.

Temporary stands are awful. Those metal-floored ones are dangerous once the weather gets a bit wet.

Don't disagree on that, also when you think about it... we'd also have needed toilets, snack bars, turnstiles etc. Perhaps a non starter.
