Totally agree with joshB. Now for the reason. I believe there is a cadre of players in the dressing room who will be delighted to see the back of IC. Of course, they won't break cover. They will let the results do the dirty work for them. Fy£de are s*i*e but they have travelled across the country on a Wednesday night and done the buiness, even giving us a goal start. Over to you DN, what do you think?

Hold on they weren’t shit. New manager, Kevin Philips who is a legend in the game and played at the highest level for years and got them disciplined. Once again the full time team showed over the game how they can manage it and break teams like us down. After the match Pemi explained how this time last year he played for Biggleswade !  Look at the pedigree of nearly every team we play they are from a decent level, sadly we don’t have the firepower.

I cannot fault the effort but the quality at the minute cannot beat what we play against, and I don’t know the answer.

Fy£de are s*i*e. They lost 4-0 on Saturday and before tonight had the worst away record in the league. As for Kevin Phillips, South Shields were quite happy to wave goodbye. I repeat, over to you DN. What do you think?

I thought it was a decent away performance from Fylde. At least they seemed to know what to do without much interference from the sidelines. I agree that there is no lack of effort but we are short of quality at this level. It’s a real conundrum for the owner…

"Time to say goodbye". Thank you Cully for getting the Club out of regional non-league football and for giving it a chance to play in the National League, but your time is done here and I think you would be happy to part on good terms now rather than continue further into this drab season.

Irrelevant of improving performances, the last two home game have yet again yielded no points.
A few weeks ago we succumbed at home to a team who were winless away, Maidenhead, and again, the same last night, Fylde.
It’s a results based business. Ultimately nothing else matters.
What’s the solution? What we have on the field isn’t up to the job. Budget,  recruitment and possibly the hybrid set up are clearly inadequate.
That’s down the The Chairman and Management Team to sort out one way or another.

Is anybody really surprised though? The summer recruitment was obviously inadequate and done on the cheap. We had fourteen years to prepare for promotion and when it finally happened it seemed to take us by surprise.

I moaned at the time about Cully's months-long silence and the club's failure to hype up what should have been a massive, massive season for us. Had they been more up front about the challenges of preparing for NL football then perhaps expectations could have been managed better, but no - as always we operate like a nuclear submarine. Even now, as we begin to get cut adrift and patience begins to wear out, I'd be amazed if Cully or  the chairman released any more than the absolute bare minimum by way of communication. Talking to fans doesn't win games of football, but they could at least address the situation and tell us how they plan to fix things.

Not surprised and we could see this coming from the summer recruitment, the finishing position last year and the history of promoted teams.

The fact that the chairman has said in programme notes means that there was budget to spend and we didn’t spend it and that budget must have been 1 of the lowest in the league. Why wasn’t it spent? Did we try to do things on the cheap or could we not get the players in (location, salary, hybrid rather than full time or part time?). If we couldn’t get the players in then I doubt we are in a better position now to attract the required quality to even fight to stay up.

We are now 6 adrift, on a ppg we won’t get to 30 points let alone 50, not won at home this season (I’ll ignore the 200 days as that includes nearly half of that time not playing a competitive game at home) and have nothing on the horizon to suggest things will improve as this squad looks at best mid table in the league below!

I started the season with a 5th from bottom is an achievement to aim for and enjoy the season. However now we are in it and getting turned over every week, it’s not enjoyable even with low expectations

It's all down to squad size I think.  We get a few injuries and suspensions and we don't have the quality to bring in.  I was told last night we have the money to strengthen the squad.  The problem in my opinion is, our location and the hybrid system.  We are an hour away from a major road.  The hybrid system does not suit everyone. If we were part time it would suit ex pros who have another source of income. It would also be the cheaper option.  The hybrid system restricts players to either being self employed, or happy to play for a non supplemented wage. I am not privy to the size of the playing budget, but obviously it's not large enough to go full time.

My opinion is IC is still the man for the job. Injuries, and the location of the club are big factors in our poor form.  But the hybrid system is down to him.

Also last night, it was like playing on a training ground for much of the match.  For the first time this season the fans were very quiet especially in the first half.
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

Must admit was expecting the "leaving by mutual consent" statement today. Think that would have been appropriate and best for all parties including Cully. However they are all adults and will have to live with the consequences of continuing atvtge club in this current run of poor results.

I have to say that I was concerned about Cully last night, particularly in the second half. He was ranting and raving at everyone and everything, it seemed, and gave the impression of having lost it (the jobsworth fourth official didn't help by trying to make it all about him). I've not seen him like that.

I felt similar when I watched his post match interview. He came across as someone about out of fight and ideas, and one that had accepted his fate.

The thing that must also be considered is that there are 3 are people under contract for another 8 months or so and no ideas around who could do any better? Costly and brave decision!
