FA Cup
« on: October 12, 2024, 08:48:11 PM »
I’ll start this one off. I’m never to critical but that was garbage. When I was a kid the cup was about effort aggression and work rate . We were crap never won a fifty fifty a second challenge , never looked like scoring. The support away again was fantastic nothing to sing about hardly any shots on goal, passes across the back brilliant ( but dull and boring ).  I am a season ticket holder and massive fan but the tide is turning.  Last week at Barnet applauded off today we just walked off. Less videos off players training having fun. It’s a result game I need to see change, or even shots on goal or goalmouth action. Fair play to Gainsborough meant more to them sadly ours think they are above their station.

Totally agree.  I go to most away matches at some cost. I'm afraid we the supporters are being sold short.  I have no problem with the team lacking in ability, it's what we can afford.  But up till now we have shown commitment, that's all we ask.  I felt sorry for all the Gainsborough fans.  They were the better team and deserved to win.  We had two efforts on goal, the second being the last touch of the match.  The only players who came out of the match with credit was Zac Mills and our young goalie.
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

Diabolical all round.
Passing was beyond dire, 2nd to every loose ball, literally passing it around midfield in the 93rd minute. Players scared to play a forward pass or take their man on. Can tell confidence is shot to bits
The only saving grace is they weren't really any better. Any half decent step 3 side beats us yesterday
Atmosphere for the numbers we had was also really poor

I'd like to think we'll put them away at home but confidence is so low and this club rarely makes fa cup ties easy. Perhaps get the few experienced players we've got into the XI, with the exception of marriott who we really need to get off the wage bill. Was like playing an hour with ten men again today

It's quite amazing over the years , whoever our players or management we reserve the worst performance of the season for the FA Cup.  Yesterday Curzon Ashton made it 3 in a row for getting to the 1st round, we nearly made it 10 in a row for losing to a lower level side.
I think the only saving grace was the Footballing Gods intervention when they heard the Trinity PA announce late on their Tuesday fixture was Whitby away
Hopefully an exciting draw on Monday night eg Alfreton away will set up a cracker at Pilgrim Way

Is the 1st round regionalised?

If we get through I expect us to be away to Barrow, or Yeovil if not regionalised.

It's a national draw at this stage, L1 and L2 enter as well

Extremely unlikely to draw Yeovil as they were knocked out yesterday.

I’d love to see Fatty McFraud drawn against us at the JCS. It’d be every dream and every nightmare all rolled into one!

I'd take a 79 v 60, just a jump over the fence at the bottom of the garden.

Marriott really was a panic signing, he's never been good for us. Waste of precious budget and jeered off by some when he was subbed.

So glad for Pemi to score, you could see how much it meant too him. Apart from that, it was one of the worst performances ive seen for a long time. Despite what the interviews said after the game, the crowd had turned second half. Could be a long few weeks if we don't get a win on Tuesday and Saturday.

Took a few photos at the game yesterday. Had a few boring issues, so not brilliant.

As usual I've put them on my Facebook page as a Public Photo Album.
