Not really. In my book we finished second. The run of away wins at the end of the season was outstanding, notwithstanding the penalties. Credit where it is due…

Not put my view forward on this thread as I am simply being patient until the signings of the squad is completed although I do have a couple of questions I would like an answer to and they are, are we retaining the so called under 23 team? and retaining the hybrid model?
As other teams are full time it would seem they will always attract the cream of the crop so do we need to push the boat out or is it the case that we belong in this league and the only ambition we really have is to retain our place? I don't want the club put in any kind of jeapordy but I would certainly like to know the answer to these questions. Perhaps it is almost time to call a fans forum where David and co can get us all on board.  UTP

I would assume, given the lack of an announcement to the contrary, that we're remaining hybrid Mel.

As for the u23s - no idea.

Hybrid has been mentioned in Radio Lincs interviews. I think it could work to our advantage - semi-pro players will see it as a step-up from training 2 nights a week, and experienced current pros won't see it as much of a come-down from full-time training (because it's still daytime, and only 1 day less). I very much doubt we'd have signed Bostwick last summer if we were still training at Doncaster twice a week. Daytime training may also see the pro clubs more willing to loan us players, and let them train with us (like Deji), especially as we have great facilities ourselves. We look after our players.

Under 23s are being kept on (they were advertising for trialists back in February, and trials were suppoed to be held in May - maybe the play offs delayed this?), and they said it would be better this coming season with more players. They didn't recruit enough last season, and they have the benefit this season of picking the best graduates from the U19s teams we have, and keep them affiliated with the club.

Cam Green - it had been leaked a while back on Twitter.

Picked up from 17th (should have been 18th had Torquay not been deducted points) Welling Utd in the NLS.

I sure hope our scouts know what they're doing. Basing your entire summer recruitment strategy on picking up five or six Carl Piergianni type gems from teams of absolute dross seems a bit.... hopeful.

Ah yes, I did see that. Another defender too? Would suspect to see a few more this week with preseason round the corner

Haha! Yes, I'm feeling a bit grumpy about things.... unusually for me, as I'm sure you'd have me (normally) in the happy clapper brigade.

It's nothing one or two "bigger" signings and perhaps a word or two from our leaders wouldn't fix, but as ever we seem to operate like we're a military aerospace company operating under ITAR than a non-league football club with fans keen to know what's happening with the south stand/plans for the season/how player X fits into strategy Y etc etc.

I wouldn't even be massively impressed with the signings to do that!

Look, I could be wrong and we could be 10th at Christmas - football is funny and these things can happen. History tells us, however, the NL is a brutal step up. As I say, I hope our scouts know something the rest of us don't and I have egg on my face come next May.

Too much negativity on here at moment. We have very little idea about the majority of the new signings and should be welcoming them. Very early days yet and at least up to half a dozen still to come. We've often seen players with a bit of a reputation come here and be rubbish. It's how the team gel and let's face it we didn't know many of last seasons players at the start of last year. Keep the faith although I agree it would be helpful for Cully to give us an update of what's happening
