Any news on Jacob, will he play any part in the remaining fixtures?

Dunno if Carol's update in the last programme gave any news, but it wouldn't surprise me if the club's being deliberately coy on a potential return date. Don't be shocked if he's suddenly named in the team without warning! They like to throw people off, and now's the time to do it...

Earlier in the week I watched the 'Pitchside Pilgrim' video from last Saturday's match where Hazel was near the start of the video going on to the pitch before the match in his training kit looking like he was going to be doing some training on the pitch before the match. Implying he's not too far away from being fit to play?

When Hazel came in we certainly looked a better side, but would be hard to drop Knowles and Mooney in the form they've been in.

Manager said last week that Mills and Leak were due back in training Monday this week so they may be available tomorrow.

The match previews on the official site these days don't tend to include which players are out injured or back, presumably to not let the opposition know.

Teams are much more capable of scouting opposition very thoroughly with a range of centralised online tools available to them. It's probably one of the reasons Step 2 is so competitive compared to twenty or even ten years ago, you're not reliant on a bloke with a notepad attending one match a couple of weeks before your game, these days your entire coaching staff can pore over entire match videos and a range of player stats across multiple opposition.

Keeping schtum over the precise return dates of injured players is probably one of the few remaining trade secrets a team can cling onto! Obviously there has to be a balance between that and keeping your own fans informed but putting that stuff in a programme that's likely not going to make its way around the league in the same way as a video is probably a decent compromise.

Back in training... albeit not with the rest of the squad. Maybe a chance of making the bench next Friday.
