Grounds visited
« on: December 04, 2023, 11:02:16 AM »
On another thread Andy Butler has visited 162 grounds.

Being retired, and having plenty of time on my hands, I tried to add up all the grounds I have visited.

I was surprised to find I am a long way short of Andy's total, 98 to be exact.

My total  64.

In the grand scheme of things I'm miles behind the likes of Josh, Rich Collins, The Jacko's and one or two others that have been going away for years. I did have a 9 year break as a single parent or that would be nearer 200.

I've Sheff Utd supporting friends who are on 3-400+ grounds and I know Adam Shergold is getting on for 500 speaking to him at Peterborough the other night.

There's at least 2 more new ones for me with Warrington and South Shields this season, and fingers crossed for Goodison at the seasons end too.

Just rejigged my stats with this seasons promotions/relegations... now on 71 of the 92 (24 of those for BUFC matches). At step 1 and 2 of non-league, now on 45 out of 72 (just 3 of them non-BUFC matches).

I'll probably keep this going step by step... but I've been to some incredibly random matches and stadiums in my time!
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Currently on 204. Hoping for South Shields and/or Warrington this season and still got a few more in Notts to tick off.

I'm on 155, with 135 of those watching BUFC teams. Like others I'm hoping for South Shields and Warrington this season...

I'm lagging significantly behind here on a mere 86 - the majority with Boston or Forest, but I have the 2006 World Cup and the 2007 U21s tournament bulking out the international stadiums. I guess you could make it 88 since Wrigley Field and Fenway Park have hosted football matches before, but I wasn't there to watch soccerball!

I've added three this season with my move south (Torquay, Taunton and Exmouth, with Plymouth and Exeter to come soon). No new additions with Boston this season, I'll only be going to Gloucester away and perhaps Hereford if something's riding on it, both of which I've done already.

I have recounted and have a new total of 72. I had forgotten such major stadiums as Holbeach and Ely :D :D

257 according to the football ground map website, which makes it easy to record.
64 league grounds. The main problem is that clubs keep moving, or I'd be well into the 70's by now.
Still have some pretty local ones not done, but if there isn't a side I like playing there then I won't go.
It's odd at the lower non-league levels how often clubs move about and disappear.

Oh, and on the one club front, I've seen rye United play home games at arundel, bexhill town, lancing, little common, Ringmer. Rye, and Tunbridge Wells, so 7 different places, although that was because the clubhouse had been burned down.
