Four Football Clubs In Court Over Late Tax
« on: January 27, 2010, 06:53:50 PM »
Notts County, one of four football clubs in the High Court over non-payment of tax, has been given 28 days to pay up or face immediate liquidation.

HM Revenue and Customs presented a winding-up petition at the High Court for £324,206 in outstanding VAT and PAYE contributions.

The club is also being pursued in the courts for £95,000 by Marston's PLC - the company that used to sponsor its shirts, while a third creditor has a claim for £3,791 against the club.

A winding-up order against Crystal Palace was postponed because the club went into administration on Wednesday, with debts of £30m. Crystal Palace has paid its players late on a number of occasions this year.

Chester City has been given until 10th March to settle its debt of £26,125 or be wound up. The club is currently up for sale for £1 and is bottom of the Blue Square Premier league.

The non-league side, Burscough FC, also had a winding-up order postponed for 21 days.

If Burscough were to go bust in the next few weeks how would that affect the league?  I know we would lose 1 point but have any of our promotion rivals taken all 3 points of Burscough?

Retford would lose no points they haven't played them yet.

I think this shows what a good job the chairmen have done. We could easily be in the same problems if it weren't for them

That appears to show it as one down? Is that because Blue Star went?
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Yep - originally 4, but with NBS and KL going it is now 2 down. Unless the FA do it on a PPG business across the level, including the Zamaretto and Ryman leagues
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.
