V Telford

Not as pretty as the previous 2 games, but we rode our luck (fortunately Telford's shooting was poor and we made some excellent blocks) and held on. Davies had a good game in goal. Our full backs were rarely allowed to get forward and we lacked width as a result. But we battled and still tried to play to feet. UTP.

Good assessment OP, our defence still looks vulnerable at times, but they're willing to put bodies on the line...a couple of cracking saves by Davies

Hope Shiels is OK. We are getting low on our striking force. Hope we get some loanees soon before we meet the big boys. Did you see that Altrincham are stuttering in the National League now that they are full time?

What formation were we playing? David says we lacked width - was it a diamond again? That can be an issue if the fullbacks don't get up.

Watched the game as a neutral.

Thought Telford started better - hitting long slightly aimless balls to Wright/Crawford was not productive but once Boston started knocking the ball around on the ground, they took control of the game.

The two goals early in the second half (the second looked dreadful from a defensive perspective) should have put Boston firmly in control but the penalty (correct decision from where I sat) confirmed the old saying that goals change games. Credit to Telford for upping their game but their decision making/shooting in the penalty area was still poor.

Against a more confident side, Boston might have been lucky to hang on but, over the 90 minutes, they probably deserved the win (just). Thought both Pollocks had good games and Wright put in a shift up front.
