Evans' three spells at Boston
« on: January 21, 2010, 06:24:18 PM »

Just read the following article on a Swindon Town web page...

http://www.swindon.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=185412

The first paragraph caused a furrowed brow:

Quote
Talking exclusively to the official Crawley Town website, the Red Devils manager Steve Evans (who famously had three spells with Boston United) revealed that Danny Wilson had made an approach for their centre forward Charlie Ademano.

Just when exactly were Evans' three spells with Boston? I thought there were only two, but I must be mistaken given that he famously had three spells with Boston United.

Incidentally given that this came from a story on the official Crawley website, I wonder how much of it is true and how much is spin?

He played up front for us during the 80s and 90s. That was when he went under the alias of "Chris Cook".

Well he did resign after losing to Tiverton in the FA Trophy in February 2001. He's probably just quit at Crawley after a similar result. Of course there's always the possibility that he can't even count up to three.

Of course Evans can count beyond three, he can use his chins as an abacus?

Evans is a cheat, a fraud and a cock.
(We can't have an Evans thread without the obvious being introduced)

Now Q loads of newbie poster logging on making one post praising him and then never being heard of again.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Well my friend according to the Crawley website he has a new best friend: David Gold. and is trying to get the man to invest in Crawley. Shame
Gold bought West Ham yesterday.
Quote
David Gold created the biggest talking point of the evening. He would not be drawn on the possibility of him getting involved in investing at Crawley Town Football Club if or when he sells Birmingham City. However his known friendship with team boss Steve Evans is sure to create an interest, on his behalf and interestingly when asked by reporters at the event he stated he would not rule out a possible involvement at some stage.

I think it's a mistype it should read

Steve Evans (who infamously had two spells with Boston United).
Touched by his noodly appendage.
