My mate Bob
« on: November 17, 2021, 03:52:31 PM »
I have a very good friend called Bob.  Now Bob is an avid Gateshead supporter and season ticket holder.  He won't admit it, but Bob is a bit of a closet Boston United fan.

Bob lives at Peterborough and never misses a home Gateshead game.  He travels all the way up to Gateshead from Peterborough.  The point I am making is, do we have a season ticket holder who travels a distance to watch United.  If so how far?

Bob is taking in his 4th Boston game of the season this Saturday.  You will not miss him, he's the geezer with the Gateshead woolly hat.  Say hello to Bob.

Josh travels from Birmingham to Boston every Saturday and Birmingham to wherever we are away every other Saturday

He usually gets lifts/taxis to midweek home and away games

He rarely misses more than 2 games a season home and away

Josh needs another hobby

In previous days, I travelled from Welwyn Garden City every other week and Tuesdays as an ST holder. That lasted about 7 years.

It just proves that genuine fans will travel to the end of the earth to see their team.  It always upsets me when teams are deducted points for financial misconduct. It seems to me that it's the fans that suffer. Derby county are the latest club to fall foul of this rule.  Why not bring in some form of transfer ban?  Then teams would have to promote within the ranks. Just a thought, I am sure there are other ways, why should the fans suffer? Just to clarify, I am not a Derby County fan. ;D ;D

I believe there are 2 Pilgrims who live in Basingstoke
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Thanks. Realistically it's every other week. I try to make most of the home games but have only managed the one away match so far this season (Bradford). It would be nice if we could play in the south occasionally!

Three if I can convert my better half to the cause. ;)
