It was an FA crackdown, so we can knock it off with the conspiracy nonsense. Does anyone seriously believe the FA even remotely care about us like that these days? Give over. Probably hardly anyone left from those days.

And as Scotty alludes to, given the length of Andi's ban I suspect he was probably betting on either games he was involved in, or if he wasn't directly involved playing wise, involved in some other way (signed up but injured, but likely to have some kind of insider info). Nothing else explains the disparity in punishment. I guess we'll have to wait for the written reasons to confirm that. Abject stupidity. I bet Elliott's steaming.

Bear in mind the wording of the regulations indicate "direct or indirect" betting is not allowed. This is there to stop players getting their family or friends to open accounts in their name, rather than the player's.

The players may have been stupid to set up accounts in their own names and the FA have got together with betting sites to check details of registered players...

Does the club still have to pay Rollins and Thanoj's wages, even though they have been suspended by the FA?
I am curious because when Kay Burley was "suspended" by Sky when she ignored Covid regulations, she was still paid for the full 6 months! Nice work if you can get it.

Depends on the wording of their employment contracts... there might be a normal clause for footballers' contracts noting they won't be paid within any FA bans.

Of course we won't have to pay them, they are in breach of contract

I found the written reasons over the weekend, not great reading.

I put a summary on Twitter - https://twitter.com/ScottyWalden/status/1449778747901624322

Else the full documents are here:

https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/written-reasons

Quickest way to get them is select this season from the drop-down and then hit search and scroll down.

What’s occurring with Thanoj? Is he still at the club?

While banned, I don't believe you are allowed to train or be present at matches. It's all a bit quiet....

FFS, if I was to get the job I would get rid of the lot of them that have had betting bans. They have let Elliott down, the chairman and us the fans.

Arsenal being probed for substantial wager on a certain player receiving yellow card.  I hope the same rules apply to the big clubs.

The FA are to probe a suspicious booking.  They are looking into the booking of Stratford player Kynan Isaac.  He was booked in the 84th minute in the FA cup match against Shrewsbury. A considerable sum of money was bet on this happening.
