Newcastle Blue Star
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:22:05 PM »
Has anyone heard anything lately about whether Newcastle Blue Star are still going?

The FA allocations put them in the Unibond Premier with us and according to our O/S they are one of the teams that are being officially welcomed into the Premier Division at the Unibond League AGM in Blackpool on Saturday.

But there's been nothing on their web site since 16th May when they said if they didn't find someone to pump in large sums of money then the club would cease to exist.

So are we going to be a team short next season, or have they sorted things out?

I would imagine they will be accepted into the UniBond Premier on Saturday, and at some point before the season starts, resign. The league will then run a team short
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

As far as I am aware,no-one involved in an official capacity at Newcastle BS has been contactable for weeks. The chairman seems to have disappeared, and most of the squad who won them promotion have joined new clubs, including the player-manager who has joined Blyth Spartans. One would assume a repreive for Witton Albion.

Latest from NBS is.

All players have now moved on.

All manegment have all found new clubs.

There has been no contact with anyone at the club becouse. emmmm there aint anyone to contact, at the moment there is a non pressents there.

The last board stepped down and basicly said if you want it ring me its yours for a pound.

As of the date there as been no takers due to the fact that who takes it will have to do the following.

1.find 65k asap
2.find running cost of around 100k a year.
3.secure a ground to play at.
4.find other board members and team manager, coach and physio.

theres most probely otheres to add to that list but basicly i cant be arsed to search the net for more. so to put it blunt they came to far to fast and are now screwed

21 teams in the Unidump will mean someone missing out on a tasty boxing day clash.

Bound to be us having to take that day off.

AGM.   Newcastle blue star have had there membership confirmed today althou nobody turned up from nbs.

Unibond chairmen peter maude as admitted that there inclusion was made due to them recieving no letter stating there posistion.
He also admitted that due to the rules around teams and membership are bassed upon it been granted unless they breach league rules or a letter from the club declining there membership offer as left no other option to grant them there place althou they are fully aware now that the league will more than likely to be running a team short.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WHAT A F****** MESS

Does that mean then that they'll be included in the fixture list? Are we going to be in the farcical situation where some unfortunate club is scheduled to play them on the opening day and NBS will only officially be kicked out of the league when they don't send out a side for that game???

Yes and no.

They will be included in the list.

And untill the team delist themself they will continue on the fixture list but just lose everygame 2 nil that they dont put a team up for.(wich will more than likely be all games)
Surely the unibond has to act on this and do it fast

did a thread on this. They were closing down around the begining of May.Their best player was a Newcastle trainee. Was supposed to be going to Gateshead. They wasn.t aware that the £60,000 was due to be paid back as it was 9yrs old and they thought it was a grant as they were encouraged to help form another league and move ground.

No Skelmersdale have not "demised",but according to the rules them finishing third makes them no more elligible for promotion than whoever finished third in Unibond 1 south.

Opening day last season we didn't play because Nantwich hadn't got round to planting some grass seed (The groundsman was having an off day)This pales into comparison with NBS. Now we could have the scenario where we draw NBS away on the opening day and they fail to have a few basics such as team, ground , chairman, tea lady etc. Apparently even the bloke that runs the website has "transferred" to North Shields! Mark my words we WILL draw them on the opening day of the season!
