F A Cup draw

Home to AFC Mansfield

If Gainsborough had beaten AFC Mansfield in the last round they would have been away to us, but at home at the same time!

When are we likely to play at home? As I live in the Midlands I have not got too much info.

Am I right in thinking had we be drawn away to AFC Mansfield then a crowd would have been allowed  ?

Sounds like many clubs are hoping for some government or Premier League to come forward in the next few days before Saturday but nothing agreed yet.  Will be a tough decision for clubs if nothing agreed by Saturday whether to play and begin players contracts when they will be obliged to pay players contracts for the season and may struggle to pay them without matchday income or to withdraw from the cup.

Fans of elite clubs (Conf North/South) are banned from their clubs' games this weekend.

Non-elite club fans can go to their game as long as they are at home.

What a farce!! We can't have fans at the cup tie because we are "elite"... Non elite clubs can have fans... Why can't there just be a set number of tickets - to allow for social distancing - made available.

If 600 fans can socially distance at a non elite ground, why can't 600 fans spread out for the elite level. 600 spectators socially distanced for our friendly at Gainsborough, but somehow it wouldn't be safe to play a cup match there with similar numbers present?

The FA have no idea!!!

Without clear guidance from the authorities regarding an imminent funding package I can imagine some of our level clubs not taking the contractual risks associated with kicking off in the cup.

I would support BUFC taking this pragmatic approach if it safeguards the club in the longer run.

Fingers crossed no one ends up having to make that decision..

What's really strange here, is that before the play offs we were complaining about not being classed as elite.
Now we are complaining about being elite.
I suppose it comes down to that old saying " Be careful what you wish for"
"I don't believe you""
"That's of minor importance, what is of major f***ing importance,is that l believe you".

I think being classed elite is beneficial overall. If we weren't we could be stuck playing in front of 600 fans at home, trying to pay for a squad assembled presumably for gates of double that.

Hopefully the government support will replace the necessary gate income, and all being well, we can at least watch the league games via some sort of streaming set up.
