Play Offs - Loan players
« on: July 06, 2020, 11:56:41 AM »
Looks like we have our loaned out and loaned in players eligible for the play offs.

Walker and WIllis are back from Trinity, and Challoner, Nicholson, Ainge and Wright can all play for us. Wright can't play in a York v Boston final though.

I think Craig Elliott said he's working with a squad of 20, so who misses out from this list? Challoner and Nicholson aren't on it

Was reported that we had 29 players & staff in the Covid testing. So coaches/ manger / physio is 5 men  (Craig Elliott, Lee Stratford, Hayden Clifton, Rich Lawrence, John McDermott) would leave 24 players? Reported that Challoner and Nicholsen are training with the players and planning on being involved https://www.bostonstandard.co.uk/sport/football/loanees-back-training-boston-united-matt-challoner-link-tomorrow-2904905.

League say we can name 6 subs for matches and use 5.

CE said a squad of 20 on Radio Lincs on Saturday.

You would assume David Newton and Neil Kempster are being tested too, plus Craig Singleton (maybe the groundsman and Jason Hatfield too, as they will be around the ground for matches). Neil Kempster is our internal Covid officer.

Makes sense that they are being tested too.

Middleton has joined Grantham so not sure if he will be playing. George Green hasn't played for us in a long time and has signed for Osset for next season so unlikely he will be involved,  got plenty of other options in centre midfield.

If everyone is fit and available would like to see us with the team that has played when we've been at our best this season with the addition of Challanor at right back. Crook, Whittle, Garner, Shiels, Challenor, Thanoj, Abbot, Platt, Thewlis, Rollins, Knowles. Still with some very good options on the bench Wright, Mulhern, Woolford, Heslop, Ainge, Jackson (can use 5 of 6 subs, 2 forwards, 2 midfielders and 2 defenders would seem right mix). Would still be leaving out some good players Willis (with 6 subs / can use 5 do you have a keeper on bench?), Wafula, Walker, Nicholson.

Sounds like clubs have to name 20 for playoffs, then -  Crook, Whittle, Garner, Shiels, Challenor, Thanoj, Abbot, Platt, Thewlis, Rollins, Knowles,Wright, Mulhern, Woolford, Heslop, Ainge, Jackson, Willis, Wafula, Nicholson.   Tough to choose between Nicholson and Walker. Elliot said a lot of good things about Nicholson and seems to rate him highly so guessing he will go with him. Either way a good squad to go into playoffs.
