Farewell to York Street
« on: March 15, 2020, 05:46:26 PM »
It’s been mentioned in other posts and on other forums, but in an extremely unfortunate twist of fate, have we already seen our last ever Pilgrims competitive game at York Street?
I certainly hope not, but under the current situation, who says we haven’t?
Well, without going into the what may or may not happen, IF the game gets the go ahead on Tuesday, let’s get out there and give the old girl a real send-off.
Tuesday may or may not also prove to be the last ever etc etc, but in a “live every day like it’s your last”, for 90 minutes on Tuesday night, as the saying goes “let’s get it on”!
He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

John Bunyan, 1684

Totally agree, let's get as many in the ground as possible.

I'd pay good money to have a last look inside the old place :-\

Game or no game, get some York Street turf before the bulldozers chew it into the dirt.

Very sad if we have played our last game at York street.  The old girl deserves a good send off. When this is all over, how about a party down the ground.  Obviously it as to be still standing and health and safety,  and public liability insurance still be in place. But I fear that's it now. Thanks for the memories.

Nothing to stop us all meeting in the car park for a send off
