Kidderminster Away...
« on: December 06, 2019, 07:21:11 PM »
Attention joshb!

I am not a happy bunny. I have gone down with a flu bug. Last 3 days in bed, getting up for food. Have a pint for me in Weavers tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a 2-1 win like last season.
All the best.

A pity. Yes we'll be in weavers from midday
Don't waste your money on their social club. Pay a quid entry too. You're better off going 5 mins down the road to weavers ale House

Could be a high scoring game today at both ends.  We are starting with Thewlis, Knowles, Rollins & Wright with subs Southwell & Wafula (all 6 listed as strikers).   Also on the bench 2 wide midfield/wingers in Rowe & Walker.  6 - 6 anyone?
United we stand..................

Here we are then Prof. Didn't really know what to expect after all the emotion of the fa cup and the first half proved a bit of a problem with one or two missing and others taking up unfamiliar positions. Our first was a definate penalty and the defender should have been yellow carded, I mention this simply because the referree appeared only interested in carding our boys for very little. Their equaliser was a poor goal to concede from a corner nobody actually making a big effort to win it. Half time we were discussing how we would cope in the second half when they would pile on the pressure, first few minutes they did just that and we just hung on however, when we got back on to the front foot and got at them again they failed to stop Penny getting a great cross in to the far post where Dom Knowles headed in with not much to aim at. We then took more control and a new lad I think is name is Dayle something smashed one at the keeper to win a corner. My mate Abbot put in a great corner kick to the far post and Wafula sent a bullet header into the far corner 3-1 a great job done. It just gets better and better being a Pilgrim.

Wasn't the best performance but got the job done. Pen was def a pen. Their goal was a terrible goal to concede. Brilliant cross from Penney and a very good header from Dom, not sure what the lino was flagging for which disrupted our celebrations, maybe over the line but I'm sure it hit the back of the net in the end anyway? Waf goal another very good header after a good delivery. On another day some of their chances would have gone on and I feel we got a touch fortunate.

Did we show enough to beat a League One side? No. Do I somehow hope we can beat a League One side? Yes!
