Dayle Southwell
« on: December 05, 2019, 02:47:09 PM »
The way Richard Boryszczuk is tweeting I think we can safely assume this one is a done deal - only remains to see how long we've got him.

Wonder if there'll be any other outgoings to accommodate him? Would seem a bit daft to move Tuton on with Southwell cup tied.

Not a huge fan of Wafula so perhaps he could make room for someone.

Is that why Clare was moved on rather moving another?

Welcome back Dayle, but we shouldn't expect to much to soon from him, he is still getting back to full fitness.
He will though add real quality and depth to the attacking line.
He has said, he is not back here for sentimental reasons, he wants to help us get promoted.
He had been circulated for loan, but he said as soon as he knew Boston wanted him, he didn't want to go anywhere else.
Welcome back Dayle.

Certainly a signing that shows we're serious about pushing to make the playoffs and getting promotion this season. Cup money well spent! Very hard decision for Craig when all available as someone of Southwell, Knowles, Woolford, Rollins and Thewlis will have to miss out. Not sure being one of the wide men in a 433 would suit Southwell or Knowles so either 442 and play them both or one of them will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Thanoj is injured for tomorrow leaving us with only 2 centre midfielders and Woolford has last match of suspension so hopefully Craig will go 442 with Southwell and Knowles up front and Rollins and Thewlis on wings.

Hopefully Southwell will stay after January, with Wright loan finishing in January will balance the squad.

Yes, he played for Halifax in the 4th Qualifying Round.

Where's Dayle gonna fit in the starting XI?  Is he replaces Rollins/Woolford on a flank, or challenging Knowles down the middle.

Great to have him back!  Hope it's as good 2nd time round

It's the perfect month to bring him in... games are coming thick and fast over Christmas/New Year. 4 games in 10 days from Boxing Day.

Maybe Thewlis needs to rest, as he was carrying an injury earlier in the season. Dayle can fit into any of the front 3 roles.

Yeah spot on this - Thewlis has rapidly become one of the "indispensables" and the last thing we need is to run him into the ground.
