away v Telford
« on: November 02, 2019, 05:25:18 PM »
Came back from a goal down at half time to win 3 - 1 with a hat-trick by Jordan Thewlis.  Well done United!
That sets us up nicely for Tues evening's Lincolnshire Cup semi-final home tie v Grantham and then next week's FAC match away at Carshalton.
United we stand..................

Should have been 7 or 8
Not joking
One disallowed for offside, 50/50
Hit bar and post
Their keeper made 2 good saves
At least one off the line

Only last 20 mins when we sat back did we look 2nd best at times
Best attacking display for some time

Outstanding win, The first half was the best 45 minutes of the season and we were down 1 - 0. Dodgy offside goal disallowed. hit the post twice, Keeper and centre half cleared off the line. We got at them playing lovely passing football on the ground and looked dangerous with every attack. It was unbelievable we conceeded a breakaway goal to go in one down at half time. Second half we looked very determined from the off and a lovely long cross to the far post from Woolford saw Thewlis latch on to it and turn two defenders inside out before smashing it in at the near post. Next goal came from a penalty as we took a corner and the ref blew his whistle pointed and shouted penalty instantly booking the defender what for? I can only assume a push or pull, anyway Thewlis had it on the spot and burried it 2-1 get in. Third was again a corner as we were playing them off the park and what a corner it was from Woolford (I think) hit with precision and pace and glanced in by Thewlis for his hatrick. All in all our best display of the season, sorry to go on but really it was that good.  UTP

Great win. Puts us within an inch of the play off zone.

What a fantastic result against a team we've often struggled against. what an improved team from last season when losing 2-0 seemed to become the norm. Sure, we have an off day now and again, but the quality we've shown this season has been brilliant to see.

There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
