I see we have a new striker. Martyn Woolford. Hopefully some competition for Knowles.

Ask any Sheffield Utd fan for their view on him and you'll get very short thrift.

The captain of the poorest Blades team for years and one of the first out of the door when Wilder took over.

Hopefully he's at a level where he can shine now.

Says on Standard website attacking midfielder. So plenty of options.

He's mainly a left-sided winger, but can play on the right or as a number 10. Competition for Walker, I reckon.

let's hope he's more competition than the last ex-Blade who played in that role....Mr £million Slew!

Scored twice in a testimonial match at York City last night. Mind you, the final score was 7-4.

Would not have to score all that much to be better than Knowles. Poor old DK you can see the talent in terms of instinct and clever reading of play;  but confidence is for some reason rock bottom.

Knowles contributes hugely to our forward-line... he and Thewlis should be our front 2 for the rest of the campaign.

What has that got to with anything,  he doesn't get dropped because he puts hell of a shift in, and his link up play is excellent.
Centre forward play is not all about scoring goals.

I agree, Knowles' awareness of what's around him, his hold  up play and unselfish work rate are attributes worth sticking with. Sure, Jordan Thewlis has more goals, but despite his best efforts sometimes, he can't (and doesn't) do it in his own.

Couldn't agree more - Knowles is a vital player for us. Woolford seems to have have had a good career in the lower leagues, so let's hope he brings some experience.

Great link player not selfish. Remember last year when it was Marriot doing the same role he was moved on way to quickly and scored for fun at Lynn.  We are near the play offs doing ok no need to be making to many changes let the squad keep gelling and perhaps actually get more behind them.
