... joins on loan from York. Decent - but did we really need him?

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for competition for places, but there's clearly no room to accomodate all these strikers and keep them all happy. This isn't a bad thing in the short term as there's certainly going to be competition for spots in the first XI, at least for the first couple of months, but I can see one or two early departures.

I agree Pete, I  think a creative midfielder would be more beneficial.
The older I get, the earlier it gets late

Phew. I was beginning to worry that Matlock might go short of strikers in October.
It might indicate Knowles is a bit more injured than previously thought?

Possibly, yeah.

Either way, we've now got so many options up front that Aug 3rd has 0-0 written all over it.

Are we getting too excited ?    Jake like our other three new strikers scored less goals last season than Allott did .

He scored twice in four appearances for us last season.
I think he can also play as a wide man, and we do lack cover out there.
I also heard that Jono is struggling with a knee problem, so possibly one of the other forwards is going to cover his position.
But welcome back Jake to York Street.

What all these signings suggest to me, above all else, is that The Chestnuts have been good to their word about investing in the squad in the closed season and they are really serious about a good finale to York Street.

He was only here for a shortwhile.

Maybe this will see Wafula let go...

It's a bit unfair to compare Allott, who was here all season, to three strikers who only had a handful of games.

Why did they only get a handful of games with their clubs ?

Dayle southwell, scored very few goals the season before he came to us, and look how it turned out in the end.

With all these unproven forwards on board we must be.
That's my attempt at sarcasm by the way !!
