Well I've  booked half a day off work to make  this game, things looking promising from the two games I've  Seen so far, so I reckon about 50ish from Boston.

Bit of a non event of a game really. Starting with more of who would seem to be the fringe players only served to show how average we can appear after the good home wins against The Codheads and Scunny.

To be fair, the pitch was bloody awful and how anyone could ever use the deck I will never know, so it didn't showcase our ball players.

A couple of positives in keeping a clean sheet and good to see Nicky Walker get some match time, but would I play him ahead of Jordan Thewlis in the starting side? Not on current form, but when his fitness is better, then players like him will be good for competition for places.

So, despite the ref constantly interrupting the game with his very pedantic whistle, and seeing Gregg Smith lumber about achieving very little, we did ok but without really creating too much. Let's hope when the likes of Middleton, Ash Jackson, Thewlis and Tuton play from the start we can return to the good football we've been playing.

One mention for George Green, his eye for a pass will create chance after chance on a good carpet. On an average day I thought he did okay and to me he looks potentiality the best ball player we've had for some time.

Terrible game to watch
We defended well but offered very little quality going forwards
The pitch was poor, the ref atrocious, such a stop start game
Hopefully the first xi will play v Stamford and we can gather some more momentum
But still, you'll get this challenge at times this season
Hopefully lessons learned

Good turnout of Boston fans. In excess of 100 if that crowd is to be believed

Also thanks to Richard Collins for the loft back to melton
A station I got to know well as my train homewas 80 minutes late!

All the best to you for the season

And to your lot. You have been challenging for promotion to the CN for a couple of seasons now. I wasn't at the game the other night but apparently you gave a really good account of yourselves!  Good signings too. All the best.
