Bit of a non event of a game really. Starting with more of who would seem to be the fringe players only served to show how average we can appear after the good home wins against The Codheads and Scunny.
To be fair, the pitch was bloody awful and how anyone could ever use the deck I will never know, so it didn't showcase our ball players.
A couple of positives in keeping a clean sheet and good to see Nicky Walker get some match time, but would I play him ahead of Jordan Thewlis in the starting side? Not on current form, but when his fitness is better, then players like him will be good for competition for places.
So, despite the ref constantly interrupting the game with his very pedantic whistle, and seeing Gregg Smith lumber about achieving very little, we did ok but without really creating too much. Let's hope when the likes of Middleton, Ash Jackson, Thewlis and Tuton play from the start we can return to the good football we've been playing.
One mention for George Green, his eye for a pass will create chance after chance on a good carpet. On an average day I thought he did okay and to me he looks potentiality the best ball player we've had for some time.
