FA Youth Cup
« on: July 12, 2019, 02:34:15 PM »
The FA Youth Cup was drawn today.
We have a bye in the Preliminary Round.

1st round qualifying is away to Long Eaton United or Borrowash Victoria in the w/c September 16th.

If you've not been before its almost always a very entertaining and cheap evening out.

Would possibly prefer borrowash as if it goes to penalties I can get the late train from Derby like last year after the Mickleover game

I'll second this, always a good night, entertaining football and often a new ground to tick off.

Just don't expect to see the future of Boston United out on the pitch - hardly any of them ever make it to make a single first team appearance!

For those that are interested Long Eaton beat Borrowash 4-1 last night.

Think the game at Long Eaton will be Tuesday 17th. Might be wrong though

Time for me to resurrect this thread.
This season we are away to West Bridgford in the 1st qualifying round of the Youth Cup. Match to be played w/c 21st September... hopefully with fans?

Aren't they the biggest youth side in the country? Something like over 100 teams!

EDIT: Yep, and they might be losing their ground as well as the neighbouring cricket club.

It was a reasonably comfortable 3-1 win on Thursday night. West Bridgford played the second half with 10 men after a slightly soft red card.
The goals are on twitter here: https://twitter.com/sportsmasts
West Bridgford's consolation is a masterclass in how not to clear your lines. I had a pleasant evening out  - £3 well spent and it didn't rain!

The next round is away at Grantham on Thursday 8th October - perhaps this might attract a few more spectators?

I thought it was at home?

Either way, I doubt I'll be able to get back to brum

The tie was switched pretty sharpish due to us not having a home ground at the moment!

1st round proper:
Irlam or Romulus v Boston United or Notts County

The Notts County game should be played by the end of the week but I’m not sure we’ve been told where or when it’s going to be played (and if anyone can watch)

Youth Cup game is tomorrow night, at Gainsborough against Notts County. However it looks like the club are going to livestream it for free via https://bostonunited.live/
