Southport (a)
« on: March 08, 2019, 09:37:52 AM »
Who else is bothering with this? For my sins I am, first time travelling to Southport and always nice to get a new game under the belt, and I've not made a game for some weeks now. Hoping to see a continuation of the supposedly decent form we showed against Stockport on Tuesday night translate into actual points. I think we're highly unlikely to make the playoffs as it is, but anything less than a win tomorrow and I think that'll be definitely season over.

I'm sure I read that it's best to buy tickets in advance as Southport have barcode scanners but as their website is currently knackered that option is currently unavailable.

Is this not working for you? Not that I've tried to go through and buy a ticket...

Ah, nice one. Their main site was down earlier so I couldn't find a ticket link. Thanks.

Any Pilgrims going to the match had better wear our away colours as their home strip has similar colours to ourselves. There has been a lot of rain here in the north west so their ground is going to cut up. Be prepared for many sliding tackles.

Found a couple of pubs in the seafront a sort of area then get the train to Meols cop as it is much shorter than the 1.5mile walk

You guys are a credit to BUFC! Enjoy your day out.

Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

Brilliant result. Play Offs still on a knife's edge - but still possible.

Windy day and there was a lot of hoof-ball. Both defences looked dodgy and it was no surprise when we went 1 - 0 down. Second half better, even if the equaliser was scrappy too, and we began to play some football. We went 2 - 1 up with a good goal and they came back with an even better one, but a good win. Probably a draw would have been a fair result but good to see us go for the win and get it.
