The pitch was terrible when we played them 5th December.

Music to our ears  :-\
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

I'd hope the team are getting used to crap pitches by now, it cannot be worse than Matlocks mud bath.

The Met Office weather forecast for Whitby isn't too bad at the moment, but the forecast seems to be changing alot, so it's worth keeping an eye on it.

It has just started snowing heavily in Leicester.

It irritates me that the Footballing Authorities persist in drawing up fixture lists that send Boston United to places like Whitby and Kendal in the midst of Winter. Aside from the increased likelihood of postponements, there's also the factor of making fans travel longer distances when road conditions may not be at their best.

Surely the fixture list could be restructured so that we play the longer distance matches in August-October and/or March-May? This would leave the winter time free for the shorter trips like Hucknall, Worksop, Retford, Matlock, etc.

Matches would still get postponed and would still need to be rearranged for midweek later in the season. But the fact that the two sets of clubs are closer geographically would make it a lot easier for away supporters to reach these games in midweek.

Agree, Leicester Pilgrim. But you used the magic words "Football authorities". Doesn't that answer your question?

If it is called off then there are now quite a few free Saturdays coming up after the demise of Newcastle Blue Star and King's Lynn so it should be possible to rearrange the game on a Saturday when it is a bit warmer.

Still not looking too bad in Whitby - it's a lot better than it is in Leeds this morning.

The Whitby webcam only shows a light sprinkling of snow.

Looks like it's going to be very cold overnight with the forecast being -3 in the morning, so a frozen pitch is on the cards.  :(

Hello Ken. Can I get 10 points on the prediction league if I predict a cancellation.

Nah, I'm afraid it's null and void if it's called off.

The police are advising that nobody travels in North Yorkshire this morning unless it's absolutely essential. So if it's the same tomorrow morning is going to a football match classified as being absolutely essential?!
