Sponsorship
« on: August 05, 2018, 03:30:37 PM »
I was just entering my super 6 predictions for next Saturday, when I saw " Proud to be sponsors of Salford City "

Just a query?    Is Skybet the Sponsors?  Are Super 6 ( run by Skybet  and Sky ) the sponsors ?

The reason I ask is, are rules in place concerning who can sponsor and who cannot.

I thought I read somewhere that a gaming firm were not allowed to sponsor now, or is that just on the shirts?

I may be totally wrong, which is not unusual :police:

Your not wrong but right;  its a super shady Peter Lim, Rupert Murdoch & G Neville connection with Sky. Neville being Lims goaffa, hence why he got the Valencia job with Phil as coach. Lim & Murdochs son(s) are in sync so who really knows the actual truth?? Bottom line is on the quiet Salford will be bankrolled to the top. Makes u wonder why auntie been was in like a shot to make 3 documentaries & give them 3 peak time live FAcup ties when there was much more attractive ties each time Salford featured????

Check out a fair few Premier League and Championship clubs... a lot of betting/casino-type companies are shirt sponsors. In certain countries, there are more strict rules (France don't allow alcohol advertising, and Croatia don't allow gambling adverts).
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Perhaps I was dreaming it :)  But was surprised to see them sponsoring  Salford.

What they won't be allowed to do is have a gambling company's logo on any kid size shirts sold.

Slightly different question, but still linked to sponsorship, who exactly are Boston's sleeve sponsors Arm Poultry? They're not a company I'd heard of before, and despite being a club sponsor there doesn't seem to be any advert for them in the matchday programme. Seems a bit unusual, as most of the other club sponsors are in there.

Wasn't lottery winner man in the poultry business?  Maybe he got us sponsorship.  A wild guess and getting 5 I know.

Checking Companies House data... it is indeed Mr Maxwell, the lottery winner.

Fair dues He hardly misses a game and even when sponsoring a game he always stands on York Street. But if he fancies building a big chicken shed at one end of the new ground it would be appreciated.
