Agree it will be very sad YC. I used to bike from Fishtoft, aged 7, to my Aunty Florence at no.13 York Street, dump bike in her yard and walk last 20 paces to the ground. Now aged 54, still going down that same street past Auntie Florrie's for every home game. End of an era for sure.

Don't be too dismissive of "groundworks" - anyone who takes a passing interest in these things knows that they are a substantial amount of work in of themselves. Sure, they're not much to look and and the least glamorous part of the build, but it does mean the stadium is officially underway.

As for the "French Connection" - presumably Tash is on about our dear old friend Rooster 8)

All good news. Hopefully will be ready during, if not at the start of, the 2019-20 campaign?
Alan Partridge: "I bet I've got more friends than you've got cows. How many cows have you got?"
Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

A great story and l bet there will be many more lovely memories to share.
Perhaps we should compile these stories into some kind of book, and have it on display at the new ground.
Perhaps it could be a pinned post on here , and then put forward to the chairman as an idea.
No matter what happens York Street will always be a massive part of this clubs history and ours.

I agree GHM l would think it will be more like 20/21 season.
Let's just hope that it can be built  in it's entirety and not phases.

20/21 Would make me eligiable to go into the 75 years of service section in your proposed YS history book chubby

I propose a statue of GHM to be erected at the new ground ;)

Anyone that can support us for that long deserves a statue.
The older I get, the earlier it gets late

My Father first took me on a seat on his bike crossbar the 7 miles or so in 1946/7, still go home and away but not on a bike. The new ground will be almost within walking distance.

My first visit to YS was about 1953, aged 8, I used to call in at my Granny's, first house on the right down Spain Lane, she'd give me a whole penny!!

We lived in York Street, straight over from the car park, when I first started going to watch the Pilgrims at the age of ten or so. It was always my aim to see if I could hear the final whistle and then belt over the road to get in the house before the result came in on the vidiprinter (older readers will remember the flashing black and white system in use on the BBC in the late 60s!).

Hope it would be built in its entirety, just wondered if that wasn't the case, and subject to us still being in this league, would a short term move to Tattershall Road be an option to save the club some cash for a season?

Save cash? We'd spend money getting it up to standard. We'll be at YS until the new ground is ready.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

I guess another option would be to move into new ground with 2 or 3 stands whilst remainder is being finished.

I remember visiting Oxford's Kassam Stadium when were in League 2 which only had 3 stands with 3rd to be built at a later date. Not sure if they have their 4th stand yet though. Felt rather odd having 3 large stands and nothing behind one goal.
