Weather in Boston?
« on: December 08, 2017, 05:42:40 PM »
Hi all

Just after a bit of a heads up regarding the weather in Boston.

I'm on the train from Sheffield in the morning with a couple of Southport fans and I'm just wondering whether there is any chance of the pitch being frozen tomorrow? Its a bit icy up here but I understand you didn't get the snow we had this morning. I'd be grateful for any information, especially in the morning.

But I won't hold you responsible if you say it is OK and the game gets called off after all!

Cheers

John

Hi John,
Weather forecast says -1 during night, been quite mild all day but feels cold now,
I think game should go ahead without a problem.
We get our snow Sunday apparently 😃

Should be ok as the pitch will be covered along the problematic Spane Road side of the ground which always is slow to thaw.
I'd say it will be fine though.

If it was Chorley we were playing, it'd be off, as they'd no doubt refuse to play!
He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

Interestingly enough both sides are out of the FA Trophy, so both sides have a blank weekend next weekend. Maybe the best thing for both sides would be to reconvene in seven days rather than have a prolonged run without any matches?

Cross Country on strike today so my journey to Boston would've taken hours. Tickets paid for, sat on a train about to leave brum at 9am, found it was off, got back home. I was with another lad and he missed a connection at Nottingham so his journey all things told took 5 hours from leaving mine this morning. Blessing in disguise for me. Hopefully there's no strike next Saturday

Frost predicted again for Saturday I'm afraid.
The older I get, the earlier it gets late
