FA Cup........just to rub it in
« on: October 19, 2017, 05:01:02 PM »
Chorley v Fleetwood is live on BT Sport on the Monday night.

Hyde are on the BEEB on Friday, a nice reward for a club that's had a rough few years.

Would BUFC v Fleetwood have been chosen?

Probably not, TV seems to be obsessed with Lancashire clubs at the moment.
Lincolnshire non league teams sadly get overlooked, probably because it's sleepy Lincolnshire.

Except Deeping, of course... and Lincoln last year.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Clearly chosen using the local derby and David vs Goliath criteria. If we had won through and drawn Grimsby, Lincoln, Mansfield, Peterborough or Scunthorpe, then there's a good chance we might well have been considered. But does Boston vs Fleetwood have the same appeal? I don't think it does, and it's nothing to do with sleepy Lincolnshire. After all, The Imps were on live TV every round last season.

not every comment that disagrees with your posts or vaguely refers to them is a personal attack. Don't make it so. I've said it before to you YC, no need to pick fights on here, you'll find them without trying. Like you I'm giving an opinion, simple as that, nothing more. If you prefer me not to refer to your posts, then I won't, but in return, please don't refer to mine. There are plenty of other posters I enjoy exchange of opinions with.

Oh dear, I am so so very sorry for upsetting you.
I will in future make sure that I check my posts to ensure that  are not construed as me picking a fight, and yes I should not be so sensitive and take comments as a personal attack.
I hope this is the reply you want and are now satisfied with the outcome.

Id guess it was chose due to the clubs been so close to each other and may have spice to it. Had it Been Boston who went throu it wouldnt have looked so good and i would have thought the choice would have gone elsewhere

Was that a football league game, I remember one at home which was on the TV,that I think Jim Rodwell scored a late goal either to win or draw the match.
Perhaps someone else could shed some light on it.

Yes, in the Football League - Yeovil beat us 2-1, and I think they went on to win promotion.

You are thinking of the Conference-winning season, when Rodwell scored a stoppage-time header in the Good Friday home game against Barnet.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Ahh yes now I remember, I was at home recovering from my vasectomie operation the day before.
All seems such a long time ago now.
