I've said it before, he's useless to us whilst suspended. We cannot rely on him. Terrible.

I feel sorry for him...so much expectation heaped on him.
Look back at posts saying "it will be all right when Greggs back "
Last year it was going "to be alright" when Nat Brown returned....it wasn't.
I recall  Ricky Miller having discipline "issues"....i don't think Gregg is in his class but  he can and has to calm himself

It wasn't special treatment as he was given a 2 year contract by Greene. If there is no way  of releasing him send him out on loan for the rest of the season. He didn't do an awful lot when he was on the pitch- couldn't/wouldn't run for ball and couldn't/wouldn't jump either.  Twice he took the ball away from others who were in better positions. We should be grateful for all he did last season but we can't afford players sitting out games for ill discipline.

It was a mistimed tackle and it was a deserved red card. But at the end of the day Smith was at least attempting to win a tackle in midfield, something which our actual midfielders failed to do all afternoon. Collectively the team let the supporters down today, but it's wrong to single out Smith.

Vince must start the next match, will at least put a challenge in against opponents. The Chapman and Maguire combination just gives opponents too much space.

I am not singling him out but tbh we were being penalised for most tackles anyway. I hope he uses his enforced lay off to lose weight and work on his fitness as at times even when he was on the pitch it felt like we had 10 men

Probably because Gregg always took time out to talk to fans, especially the younger ones. It was a nice gesture.

Your point is well made regarding Smith trying to do the job of the useless midfielders however, He really is letting himself, and the fans down.

It was a rubbish touch and then a stupid over the top of the ball challenge, nothing unlucky about it. Stupid decision.
