They should be! If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say there may be an alternate reason for not arriving on time... according to their twitter they only set off just after eleven, which was never getting to Boston until very close to kick-off, if on time at all. I made exactly that journey this week in a car and it took just under 4 hours. Did the bus initially break down before they left Co. Durham? According to their own official website, there were players needing fitness tests this morning, curious timing perhaps? Maybe they have players who have not turned up at the meeting points? Maybe the Delorean they usually use didn't turn up? Seems a little strange, and indeed hasty, to postpone before kick-off time. I presume a delayed kick-off may not have been considered? Did the match officials have urgent things pre-arranged this evening? Dare I even mention betting patterns?

Remember I was saying that last week's game at Southport was the biggest opening day defeat for Boston United in the history of the club - the only defeat coming close was the 4-1 loss to Peterborough in 1950/51. Well later on in that season Boston played the return match at Peterborough and four Boston players failed to arrive because their car had broken down. Rather than call off the match Club Director Reg Dilley and club trainer Freddy Tunstall took to the field for United as replacements, even though Tunstall was 52 years old at the time! And they only lost 3-1.  :)

There supporters bus passed them and offered to swap coaches, their manager refused, something very fishy.

This needs to be investigated by the League and FA , remember Chorley last season with the frozen pitch saga.
Surely if they were offered a coach by their supporters, they would have taken it if they seriously wanted the game to go ahead, which they didn't because of injuries to their squad.
If they Spenymore called it off, surely they must now forfeit the game and Boston get the three points.
Does anyone on here know what the rules are regarding postponements and genuine reasons for this.

Remember being at that match ,  seem to recall Tommy Lowder playing for Boston that day.  I guess the crowd would be 6k -8k .

This is diabolical. They should be fined by our league (I am sure we would
if the circumstances were the opposite ) they should have to reimburse
Boston Utd all reasonable costs incurred eg stewards, ref fees, travelling
by our players etc and clearly forfeit the 3 points for the game.

I am sure the league will bottle out of any contentious decision but from
what has been said on here there seems to be something very dodgy
about them trying to get here at all.

Typical it was the first game I was able to come to after 2 years of illness
only to be told as I walked down York St it was off
