With respect to some of the opposition, I'd take that for the first six games. Promising so far...

Fingers crossed TTT, we also seem to have good strength on the bench who are able to positively affect a game when they come on.
No Smithy tonight though, and Vinno came off after25 minutes let's hope none of that is serious.
Looking good otherwise.

from what I've seen and heard so far, there's many positives. Let's hope it continues into the early League games. The depth on the bench seems of a better quality than in recent times, and should provide a healthy competition for a starting shirt.

According to AM one more signing due in: a centre forward; which will take the first team squad up to 20.

According to soccer base he has only played 92 games in his career. His goal ratio is good though. Don't know if this covers full time pro games.

Paul Clayton I've traced played 311 times for Alfreton and has a good goal tally .
Then appeared to sign for Harrogate in 2015 . .

311 apps for Alfreton 114 goals as you say not a bad return.

Would anyone on here take a punt on Clayton, he has a good goal return and has experience, he has a lot of non league football under his belt.
His age is against him, but if you look at Hawley that doesn't matter too much.
Probably not a 90minutes man, but another good option to bring off the bench if you need an experienced head to see a tight game home.
Me personally I would give him a go, on non contract terms and then see how he goes.

He might just be a good signing Ted, we are going to need a leader up front until Smithy gets fully fit.
I know the Alferton fans highly rate him and were sad to see him leave.

Murray knows we need a proven goalscorer. Pre season has shown we are going to have alot of possession in games & it has to be turned into goals. Hawley yes goalscorer but at 36 on from the bench? Smithy needs time to fully recover & get match fit. Tshimanga looks skillful around box may get his share? Waite? Haven't seen him played in the middle yet just out on right wing, hopefully alot more to come. I can see why Murray is bringing another striker in though.

Well its not done and dusted yet , but if he played 300 + games in 7 years , he doesn't appear to have missed many !
Don't know what happened at Harrogate tho .did he play against us ?

Where do we stand with Jay Rollins? As far as I know he hasn't got a new club yet. If he were to come back apologetic and now want to agree the terms we offered, would we have to find room in the budget? If we didn't, could he then leave on a free transfer?
