I thought we looked like a good strong team today, and considering we put a different team out the second half, we didn't look half bad.
Some good signings, especially in defence and midfield, does anyone know who the player was wearing 16 in the second half was, he looked like a decent tidy player.

Greg was there, but is not ready for competitive football yet,and may not play until the start of the season.
I did not see Grant anywhere or Pepe,,but I probably wouldn't recognise Pepe.

my son asked Gregg yesterday how his re-hab was going, and his reply was "he's (AM) saving me as he doesn't want to risk further injury in the early pre-seasons".

Hear Jan yeomans has only been offered a 3 month contract. Bit of a kick in the teeth for the lad in my view. Improved quickly after coming in last season and did well in a struggling side. Probably means he'll be gone by xmas which is a shame

Grant recently tweeted that he needs another knee op, so assuming it's to do with the same injury, he's probably played his last game for us. If I remember rightly, he was one of the walking wounded who were invited back by AM to prove their fitness, which, of course, he won't be able to do.

i agree T&J, that seems harsh. I realise you can't carry too many squad players, if that's how he's now seen, but at the same time there's no wonder there's little loyalty shown by players if that's how they're treated. On another recent thread there's debate regarding loyalty, class of character, etc, but no there's little wonder that contracts are grabbed when offered. Whatever your profession, you need some sort of job security.

Sadly if Grant needs another operation, it may be the end of his playing career.
He is a fitness instructor in his day job, so he will have to put that first.
I wish him well though, I personally liked the lad.
But this club and any other will not hold onto an our of contract player.

I thought Jan did ok in the games I saw him play in.

Lets be professional ,  we're trying to build a football team not a social club .

I thought Beatson look a capable defender yesterday and presumably Murray sees him as first choice ,   with a few utility defenders in the squad we have cover at left back (or a better option in mind ).

GHM I thought so too, I thought they all did well and looked hungry for it, Maguire is going to be a handful, I liked his attitude and Chapman worked well in front of the defence.
Who was the number 16 who played the second half in defence,he looked like a calm, capable player.
