Top 7 The New Target .
« on: May 17, 2017, 04:19:01 PM »
Beginning this coming season the 6th and 7th places qualify for the play-offs .   With the expansion of full-time clubs and rumours of another club getting millionaire backing play-offs still a big ask for us .

If we finish 6th or 7th it would be seen as progress from this season. However before the start of the season surely we should set the aim to finish in the top 5.

Just re-read to see that that finishing 7th could mean a play off spot, would be an interesting change.

Given the managers hype and ambition for the club, there can be no excuses next season and we must be aiming for top 5 surely ? Forget all the talk about 'money clubs', money does not automatically buy success. Forget about where we sit on the map of the Country, the size of our club should sell itself to ambitious players regardless of travel. But, we must have some solid, proven, signings come the start of the season. A new team from scratch needs time to gel and get an understanding of each other, but we cannot afford a poor start again. Would be nice if we can get the majority of the team in place come the pre season games, with the odd addition added during those trials.

I got this info from Vanarama North News official website, unless I've misread or misinterpreted it.

Top ten could be a tall order. I laughed at someone when he had us 15th on a prediction.... but actually, I couldn't find many teams who I'd back us to beat over a season

We will finish were we finish, no body can truly predict anything, I don't think it's right to put a team down when we don't even know or have seen the players play yet, we don't even have a full squad, and the signings have not been completed yet.
Let's stop jumping to conclusions and just get behind the AM the players and club, for god sake we are building a new ground this season, that's got to be a positive thing at least.

are you Adam Murrays dad ? ;)
three signings from a poor gainsborough is not enough to make me part with season ticket money.
hopefully he has something lined up....
tbh signing a keeper is a good move....the last few dabbles and dibbles at the start season haven't been good

So why do we have a Prediction League?

Yes ..I wouldn't buy a season ticket on these signings .

I buy a season ticket to support my club, not the players... at this level, you must know that most of the players signed this summer will not be here in a year's time.
