Nice to see Jay picking up 3 awards, well done Jay, you deserve them this season.

Yesterday he worked his socks off, mind you, he always does.
Should be the first name on the retained list in my opinion .

His own choice.....Or is the style of play?

It seems his agent is looking to get him in a full-time team.

Only repeating what Adam said, wouldn't know or care about style of play, not my concern.

Cannot deny the ambition, as long as he goes a step up and not just to Harrogate or Salford.

Only problem now os that Jay has player of the year on CV, which makes him even more of a target.
Please Jay don't go to Salford.
I don't know this statistic but how many players that have got this award, have moved on the following season, can someone enlighten me plz.

I was going to try and answer this question, but the record keeping seems to be a bit out of date. Ken, any chance of updating the last few seasons?

Indeed, not quite up-to-date. Has anyone got any idea who won it in 79/80 or 81/2? No mentions in the old Standards in the Library when I looked.

Here's the updated list:

Season Player of the Year
76/7 Gerry Stewart
77/8 Dave Adamson
78/9 Gordon Simmonite
79/80 ?
80/1 Gary Simpson
81/2 ?
82/3 Arthur Mann
83/4 Paul Casey
84/5 Bob Lee
85/6 Dave Gilbert
86/7 Chris Cook
87/8 John McKenna
88/9 Paul Shirtliffe
89/90 John McKenna
90/1 Paul Cavell
91/2 Gary Jones
92/3 Paul Bastock
93/4 Neil Grayson
94/5 Steve Appleby
95/6 Chris Cook
96/7 Chris Withe
97/8 Steve Appleby
98/9 Martin Hardy
99/00 Peter Costello
00/01 Joby Gowshall
01/02 Daryl Clare
02/03 Paul Bastock
03/04 Paul Ellender
04/05 Austin McCann
05/06 Alan White
06/07 Mark Greaves
07/08 Jon Rowan
08/09 Adam Millson
09/10 Shaun Pearson
10/11 Shaun Pearson
11/12 Marc Newsham
12/13 Marc Newsham
13/14 Ricky Miller
14/15 Carl Piergianni

think rollins is leeds/ bradford based. therefore a lot of travelling for home games and the sleaford training sessions

full time at step 2 could mean halifax harrogate (i think) salford york (if they come down) not sure about north ferriby/ southport plus there are sides like guiseley barrow blyth to name but a few could also compete for his signature

if i were a betting man i'd think it's the last time we'll see him in a boston shirt at york street. can't blame him. he's been a decent servant but if he can earn more money nearer home then good luck to him. footballers at this level have to think of themselves as clubs soon bin them off when it suits

my guess is he will be one of our higher earners. there are lots of decent players around for the right money so let's not worry too much about it. just trust AM to use his connections and get us a suitable replacement in if he leaves and i wish jay all the very best for the future if he does go. that is just the nature of football at this level i'm afraid

not sure, but 79/80 was Bobby Brown, he scored getting on for 30? And could 81/2 have been Dave Adamson again, he scored approx 15 that season? It's likely the top scorers maybe got the awards.
