Vs Nuneaton
« on: February 25, 2017, 12:49:14 PM »
The last time we won at home on a Saturday was last April against today's opponents. Our current form is still indifferent, but Nuneaton's form is won 8 straight, then drew 1, and most recently lost 4 straight, so goodness knows which version of them will turn up. Looking at the weather a windy and rainy afternoon won't help the aerial stuff, but the well documented pitch won't help to keep it on the deck. One way or another, it looks like an ugly afternoon is ahead. Let's hope we can repeat the 2-1 win from last year.
He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

Andy Dibble now on the bench for Nunny ,   Greg Tempest just about holding place in the team but like the rest of their players is getting plenty of stick ,  fans consider most the players sub-standard .
Striker Ironside reported to be on the verge of a move to higher level .

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH BUFC performance vs Nuneaton....no gameplan,no leaders on the pitch,no width to our "play" (yet again),no meaningful shots on target (yet again),no passion from anybody (manager included)....just very poor and unacceptable in all departments....

A 1-3 home loss against a team who I think have lost their last  five games, arrived at York Street in a mini-bus apparently and played most of the second half with ten men...they clearly arent a good team but BUFC are even worse...

Dreadful stuff all round IMO...

I also left immediately after the third goal. We really do need to get this season over with, get rid of all the dross which unfortunately means most of them and start afresh. We have a captain who has been constantly very poor and totally un- inspirational. The "best midfielder" in this league has little idea and the defense constantly under performs. Once Rollins left the field our attacking options went with him. We have a team totally incapable of passing the ball, in fact I have seen more passes in an episode of mastermind. Will I go to Halifax next week? I suppose I will but much more of what has been served up the last couple of games and I will question whether I will attend home games.  UTP.

I agree with you all, who couldn't after watching that performance.
Hilliard on the bench why? He obviously improved us after he came on.
Thomas today was our best player, he chased and battled hard all game, thoroughly deserved his man of the match.
What was really surprising was the look on our players faces when they walked off at the end of the game, they looked shocked that we were not clapping them.
Well lads here is a piece of advice, if you show us something to clap at we will.
It was nice to see that Hilliard and Thomas got some praise.

Why are we trying to do silly little flicks and tricks, I am not being nasty but that's ok for premiership players, but we are not at that level and the players are not good enough for that, they loose the ball most of the time.
Just get it it down run with it, pass and cross into the box, take shots at goal,it ain't rocket science.
In short, don't try and play like premiership players, it don't work at this level.
God help us.

Time to reflect on the loss to the team of Gregg Smith ,  apart from goals Greg was a real leader capable of inspiring team mates for 90 mins .   Since his injury we have collected 6 points from the 7 games , probably enough to avoid relegation , but we seem to be continuing to lose confidence , ideas, and no one appearing to know how to address the slide .
What were the better players now appear to be letting their game dip .

Cannot see who in the present players are capable of inspiring the team on the field , our most experienced players  Clarke and Chapman are poor and need replacing .   If Rollins does not recover quickly from injury can't see where the goals will come from .

As suggested Clarke and Chapman the experienced players add nothing to the team

Not often seen on this forum, but we are united in our opinion tonight. It was untold rubbish. Can't really blame inherited players either really, as only 3 of the starting eleven were Dennis' players. Shane Clarke (although due to injury, he never played a competitive game under Dennis), Jay Rollins, and Josh Robinson (signed by Dennis, but only played in the abandoned Witton game). So what's going wrong? Okay, the pitch isn't great, but other teams don't seem to have a problem playing, scoring and winning on it? It's mentioned by others that we have no leader. I have to say we need a motivating voice bloody quickly. No one is taking the responsibility out there. It's without shape, and, yes, we've gone back 3 months in my opinion......, different manager, different players, same rubbish, same results. It's a good job there are 4 teams that are either worse than us or strapped for cash or both, else the fight for a safe place might be a lot tougher than it looks to be.......or is it safety? or am I being complacent? Let's hope we are just about doing enough, but bloody hell, we need some total reorganisation in the summer.
