We have 10 fit defenders at the moment ,  listening to Thommo on Radio  most need to be shipped out .

Does not look hopeful for Tuesday listening to player interview after match .
didn't hear player interviews what do you mean doesn't look hopeful

I translated Nats comments as ...I feel knackered .
I see I thought he meant it didn't look good that the game would go ahead I don't want another wasted journey

We are in deep trouble even if we claw ourselves up in this game. Listening to it on the radio it sounds awful the defence is non existent and up front we are dismal. We need some one at the elm and pretty dam quick. Regardless of what Dennis did in the previous 3 years this is his team and they are not up to it so he must shoulder most of the blame for the position we are in. We need a fresh man with fresh ideas, Martin Drury is at the game so maybe him, mind after watching this rubbish he might not fancy it.

I take it you have not looked at Drury,s record at BPA Tash .
If he come,s to Boston and continues like he did at BPA it is UNI League for certain next season .
Linked up with Greene end of last season ,  maybe instrumental in bring some of this dross in .

On that basis Pete no one will touch Dennis on his latest stats. I think every player and every manager has a shelf life at certain clubs , think Dennis reached his with us. You can't take away his record in the first three seasons but, we won nothing and reached no finals. As they say on gardeners question time "onwards and upwards (hopefully).

If you didn't go today I will tell you it was a draw. If you want to know about the game read about it on here from those others who did't go or read the NLP tomorrow. I got so much stick last time I tried to give an honest report I have decided the result is all you get. UTP.

We can score goals but we lack any sort of ability to control a game. Almost as soon as we scored our first and second goals today, Stalybridge went straight up the other end and helped themselves. Thank God our last goal was so late in the game.

An entertaining match but the defensive frailties are all too obvious and we desperately need to find a way to shore things up or there's going to be some hammerings dished out over the coming weeks.

Contact Greene and give him a pain in the arse , most of us on thought we was going to get a break from all this until the next manager go bedded and targeted by you.

My Reply to all this is simple back in pre season I said on here many times that we were not looking good only to be shouted down by everyone.
I also posted some weeks into the season that once green realised this then we would panic and get lots of loanees in which he did.
Also said the lack of fight in the squad and desire would be a problem players with no backbone or leaders.
Steve Thompson basically said all this during yesterday's radio commentary and he's seen us twice this season so if you knew your football it's been there for all to see.
Now we need to look forward a new manager will see all these same problems and will want to change things as to not be a failure this will mean getting players in and as some have rightly said 6 or 7 basically major surgery this costs £££s you just can't do it on the cheap it's a huge problem and one that any new manager will give hard thought to before he takes this job unless he has a huge contacts book and a lot of loyal players that have played previously for him.
In short Dennis did do as good as job as he could however his recruiting in the summer was no where good enough. If it's gonna be this squad till the end of season then just expect more of the same I'm afraid.

I believe the management were very happy with with the assembled squad.
Unfortunately it (or they) didn't gel add to that the injury list..
Hence where we are.
Some of the players need to look in the mirror. ...

you're right KON, it is a shambles that we have been left with. I don't envy whoever is given the job, they've a hell of a lot of work to do to steady the ship, which has to be done before we're all arguing on here about why we are in a real relegation scrap. Defensively we are dreadful, and have been all season, but there's not been any protection for them in a holding player in midfield, so once our sparse attacks break down, we've regularly had 4, 5 and even 6 opposition running at our very flat back four. Whoever's been between the sticks has been on a hiding to nothing. We've got 3 shining lights this year, Smithy and Jay are forming a good understanding, and Marshall seems equally as good wherever he plays. Big downer for me has been Agnew's injury at the hands of Scotty Garner. Liam was making things happen around and in front of him, but that's football, eh? Beyond that, there hasn't been much to be positive over. The bottom line here is the shambles won't go away overnight. We're not suddenly going to become a winning team just because the manager is changing. But we have to scrap for results. Given that Dennis' parting gift was the 9-2 defeat, I'll take an away point yesterday as a stepping stone towards an upturn in form. But, message to GHM, the "blame" for the poor players we have didn't leave by mutual consent, just the man responsible for it. These are his men, and, with apologies to disagree again, these men are without exception, the ones Dennis brought to this club. They are his team, not the next managers, and so the legacy of this sub-standard squad will continue. Issues don't go away because the personnel changes.
He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

Yesterday the players assembled were just not good enough. That isnt their fault. However unlike previous weeks they did really try. Which is their fault so I'm fairly happy that they did all they could
