A really good proffesional performance, Newsham just cant stop scoring, or "Mark Newson" according to the NLP, it shows how low we are when papers cant even get our players names right.

Maybe the best way to measure the work of S & H is to ask ourselves how many of last seasons players would get a place it the present team ? None as far as i can see . and this a team assembled on a reduced budget.

Unfortunatly,so were some who couldn't give a sh*t.Here are the comparisons;

2009/10
                 P     W     D      L       F      A         P
                18    10     5      3      33    15      35

2008/09
                 P     W    D      L       F      A         P
                18     6    4       8      23    26       22

To get to the 35 points we have now, took last seasons team to 21 March(game 35 of the season.

People had different opinions on those who should stay and go at the end of last year who did you want to keep at the time and has your opinion changed?

I wanted to keep all that stayed plus Mathews Ellender Wood Farrell Rowan and Miller.
I think Cannoville is a better all round player than Ellender and suits our style of play better but we would lack pace at the back if we had them both at this time of their carrers so don't think we miss him anymore.
Mathews and Wood are both better than Wood Jackson and Cullingworth as they were stronger and more consistant.
Farrell would have been a good squad player and provided an option in the last haldf hour of games especially at the start of the season when we had no wide players.
Rowan would still be a fantastic option as a attacking midfielder.
Miller did a great job and would get in any squad at this level but was maybe a little selfish at times and no player is worth breaking the wage structure for.
Having said that i respect the decisons of the managers as i did at the time

It seems that all the players from last season that were too good for our league and have moved on up are helping their new teams to struggle at their elevated level. The ones moved across the league are mainly doing ok, but most have dropped down at least one level to varying levels of success.

The ones we have got to replace them seem to be doing alright at this level, and hopefully if we hold onto Scott and Hurst, could be doing alright at the next level.

I think it was at the managers introduction meeting, when Newton said to them, "I don't expect to achieve anything this season", Scott replied "I bloody do."

Agree about Parker Simpilgrim ( I missed the word released out of my statement) he never failed to give 100% last season when most others around him did not give a toss. Now in a organised team i think he looks a better player .  The early season form of Chris Woods would have seen him discarded by a previous manager i can think of but in recent games many fans have nominated him MOM. Makes me think these managers have good coaching ability.

They can spot a player, I can't it seems.

I thought we were only some effort and a few players in vital areas short last year, they didn't and got rid of the lot.

You simply can't do it on a player by player breakdown.  As a unit we just look so much better than last year dispite most of last years team better perceived 'better' players.

I would welcome Miller back as he ran his bollocks off and looked the part. Ellender can still cut it at this level, some of the others may have got us towards the top with differing players around them, the rest we don't miss at all.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

We've also got a really good spine to the team this time around. I think we have the best central defence partnership in the league (based on the teams ive seen so far) and Church and Sleath are quality midfielders.

To win leagues you have got to have consistent quality all through the team, and i think thats where this team beats last years.

Plus the fact that last years lot didnt even try....

Agreed! The players in the squad this season are miles better then the wasters last year - and the combined wages of the players is less!
