Got to agree, today wasn't a performance that deserved to give the manager the sack.
We lost simply because we we're sloppy/in-experienced in defense. With Thomas and Brown already injured, then Burgess went off injured in Price, Wildin and Robinson we have 3 defenders with only a handful of first team matches played between then. You could say it was the manger who picked these players but with 3 more experienced defenders injured as a club with a modest playing budget when you get injuries you have to give young players a go.
As a match to watch it was a good game I thought, much more entertaining than games like the 1st of the season when staylybridge came for the point and grabbed a one nil win. At 2-2 at half time this felt like a fair scoreline on the balance of play and as the second half started it seemed like it was going to finish 3-2 to us or them, unfortunately it was FCUM that got the goal to win the game.
The players put in the effort and looked like a group that were still playing for the manger (which is the main reason he should stay). Had we not already been in bad form I don't think too many would be that unhappy with the performance and just put it down to defensive errors, but we have had far too many defensive errors this season due to inexperienced defenders.
The FCUM fans were noisy, creating a good atmosphere all match, every match must feel like a home match for their players!
