We may be having some 3g pitches in Vanarama North this coming season as I understand FCUM, Harrogate and Telford are already preparing them.  What are your views?
United we stand..................

nice to play on except you get little black rubber things in your socks and can burn a bit on a sliding tackle!
i think these guys who have numerous games cancelled due to poor pitch/waterlogged would be better off with 3g.  Standard of football may get better
they would have a home advantage

Not a fan, football should be played on wet muddy pitches, it makes it more interesting.

You cannot beat a grass pitch.
3g or 4g pitches play slow the ball upon bouncing holds up.. it also holds up when you dribble at pace.
Grass is the way forward with a synthetic weave of grass/fibre mix like the top sides have.

However when money through income is tight and clubs with poor surfaces due to drainage you can see some sort of benefit to clubs going down the artificial route but as its been pointed out clubs with these pitches will have a home advantage by knowing how their pitch plays.

No no no no no no no no no.
He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

Prefer the grass myself but they are useful for training purposes

Local team has one down here and they now play far better football.  You can tell the teams that prefer "the real stuff", they rock up, hoof it down the pitch, loose the ball and find they have forgotten that football is supposed to be played on green stuff not mud and in the air.

In the long run more of them the better for me , better financially for the clubs as the pitch is played on every day and the quality of play is higher drawing in more crowds.
