Fylde have announced they are going full time. How many others are there?

plenty enough, and most will unfortunately fall by the financial wayside in under 10 years, as have many before.....it's how you recover afterwards that really counts....

Don't even try competing with these clubs; it's a sure path to ruination. The only annoyance being that, even when they go tits up (as they always do) and end up reforming in the Northern Gas Hobs League Division 8, there's another hapless band of cashed up chancers to replace them. It's never ending. Had this in the 90s too - sick of it.

Aren't Stalybridge full time?
Possibly not getting paid enough?

FYLDE just signed Brendan Daniels who top scored for Harrogate last year on a 3 year full time deal, l, they are bonkers. And that's on crowds of a few hundred. We can't and shouldn't try to compete with that, anyone can see it's not sustainable.

the perfect example of "it will fail" is Rushden + Diamonds. Mr Doc Martens threw millions in, and when the "hobby" got boring and the funds dried up, it's as quicker a spiral down than it was going up. Rushden had a much bigger fan base to help fund things through the turnstyles, so how Fylde think that 3-400 per game would do anything to raise sufficient financial throughput is beyond me.

Just about - I think they train 3 mornings a week.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

I think when we all look at these hobby clubs there is a bit of envy at how they can do it on their gates. Will be interesting to see how many people turn up to Fyldes new home.

Trouble is big proper clubs get priced out and go backwards at the expense of these
Clubs, unless they over spend and end up like many have done before, including us,
looking at our league for next year their is some damn fine bigger clubs and if we go on attendances we could well fall outside the top 6 and let's not forget we also have the ex Man Utd players hobby club to compete against.
At least we should get our massive Derby back over Christmas 😀😀
