Ryan Robbins

What's the story with Ryan Robbins? Anyone shed any light? I believe he's back with us but hasn't played, or even made the squad! What's he been doing to upset the gaffer. Good, strong, committed striker from what I've seen of him..... Any ideas?

At the risk of opening a can of whoop-ass, he's been doing his own thing when the club have given him different instructions. His own social media entries speak of frustration of not being picked, wasting his time turning up, and he has posted pictures of himself at times and other places when he's allegedly supposed to have been at Boston. Not a team player and thinks he's a right to a starting shirt rather than earning one. Shame really, because the qualities you point out could be worked on to become a good player at this level.

Seems to have disappeared from the squad page on the official website.

On his Twitter page, I quote him "up there with the worst season I've ever had glad it's over". Guess he doesn't want to extend his stay at Boston?

He looked a decent player, but we don't know what went on behind the scenes and something was obviously badly wrong.  Den  got us where we wanted to be so in award winning Dennis I trust  8)

We were warned by Stamford supporters that he could be a bit uppity, and a disturbing influence.    Obviously thinks himself a better player than what he actually is.

Good quality player and I wish him all the best wherever he plays next season. A natural match winner.

Rumours now afoot that he's accusing DG of being a racist.
I did think RR was a little unbalanced, but I reckon he's got a massive chip on both shoulders, so maybe not!
He must be running out of clubs in this area that he hasn't pi®®ed off yet.

If DG had the budget of others he wouldn't have to take risks on
These types of a players.

I'm all for giving them a go at this level but they owe us fans nothing
Until they prove themselves.

I agree, some come off, many don't, but this guy didn't think he had to earn a starting shirt. He thought he was owed one. Big mistake.

Didn’t know much about Robbins until I saw him for the u21s a few weeks ago. Suffice to say I don’t think we’ll miss him. Thing is, he looked like he could be a very decent footballer but his attitude that night wasn’t right. Best for both parties if they go their separate ways.

As for the allegations, you can’t go around saying stuff like that unless you’re prepared to make an official complaint. Not saying I don’t believe him, but you have to report incidents properly so formal investigations can be undertaken, as happened with the supporter at York Street recently. Racism is a scourge that needs eradicating from the game entirely, so if Robbins really did encounter it at Boston United he should have reported it immediately. The club has already shown it takes such things very seriously, so there was really no reason to instead make some vague accusations on a blog after the event.
