Burton's success is partly based on good sense decisions within the boardroom but also partly on luck. One year for example they reportedly earned £600,000 in their share of gate receipts from an FA Cup away trip to Manchester United. Same story at Crawley. Those one off games can sustain clubs for years and massively drive their progression. We could be where Burton are now - if only Heybridge Swifts, Congleton, Workington, Leek or Kidsgrove were better supported!

Was on A16 at Wyberton yesterday and it looks like work preliminary work on the Quadrant site has started already. Saw a couple of JCBs in the field and the digging has commenced on what looks like an entrance road. Here goes!

Alan Partridge: "I bet I've got more friends than you've got cows. How many cows have you got?"
Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

surely 2 JCB's isn't enough, we need more strength in depth and should get at least 4 new ones in.
against league 3, an idiots guide to making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

A mate tells me he saw one of the diggers turn out for the Environment Agency last month. Solid if unspectacular when it comes to dredging he reckons.

Did you notice what colour the JCBs were? Were they gold diggers?

The dreaded cones and roadwork sign is up,
7 months of roadworks the sign says!!
Let the traffic chaos and moaning begin.

Not exactly a fair comparison but...

Around Leeds the M1 and M62 managed motorways works went on for AGES (like months and months) and were a total nightmare for the entire area.  But since completed its not just better.  It's miles, pun intended, better.  Progress comes at a price but it is progress - good luck!  :)
